Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Your patron is the Demon Prince of Undeath, Orcus.  Residing deep within the endless layers of the Abyss, the Blood Lord waits for his chance to spread undeath across the Prime Material.  His only enemy is life, and his only goal is to snuff it out wherever he can find it.  But Orcus' plots do not end at death.  His true purpose, and the purpose of those who draw upon his powers, is to bend the dead to his will.  The soul may be gone, but the body is still present and makes a wonderfully useful tool for this Demon Prince.

Necromantic Lore

At 1st level your patron has already taught you some of his dark secrets.  You learn one additional cantrip at 1st level.  The cantrip must be from the necromancy school of magic.  If the cantrip you choose to learn is not on the Warlock spell list, it nevertheless counts as a warlock spell when you cast it.  You may cast your chosen cantrip as a bonus action on your turn, regardless of its normal casting time.

Lord of Undeath

Starting at 6th level you are able to call upon your patron's authority over undead creatures.  Undead creatures that would normally be hostile to you are instead considered neutral, but only to you.  Undead creatures also have disadvantage on saving throws against spells that you cast.

As an action on your turn, you may attempt to charm a number of undead creatures equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum one).  The creatures must be within 30 feet of you, and must be able to see and hear you.  If a targeted creature is normally immune to being charmed, it is not immune to this feature.  Target creatures must make a Charisma saving throw against your warlock spell save DC, becoming charmed by you for one minute on a failure.  Charmed undead will avoid harming you and your allies and obey reasonable verbal commands for the duration.

You may use this feature once, regaining the ability to do so following a long rest.

Corpse Burst

By 10th level, your affinity for death allows you to use it as a weapon.  When you kill a creature on your turn, you may immediately use your reaction to cause its body to explode with necrotic force.  Creatures within 30 feet of the corpse who witness the gruesome display must make a Wisdom saving throw against your warlock spell save DC.  On a failure, the creature becomes frightened for one minute.  Affected creatures can repeat their saving throw at the end of each subsequent turn, ending the effect early on a success.  Creatures within 10 feet of the exploding corpse take 2d10 necrotic damage and have disadvantage on their Wisdom saving throw.

You may use this feature once, regaining the ability to do so on a short or long rest.

Aura of Despair

Beginning at 14th level, you are surrounded by a sinister aura of death.  The aura extends over a 30 foot radius, inflicting creatures  other than yourself with a number of effects.

When a creature within the aura receives any amount of healing, the healing received is reduced by half.  If a creature is usually resistant or immune to necrotic damage, this resistance or immunity is ignored within your aura.  Finally, when a creature in the aura is struck with a critical hit, it takes additional necrotic damage equal to your warlock level.

You may activate or deactivate your aura as a bonus action on your turn.  When you activate your aura, you may designate creatures who will not be affected by it.
