Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Where some bargain for power, others for influence, and others still for ancient secrets. Those that undertake the Eldritch Symbiosis are gloriously remade, finding themselves no longer alone in their own skin. A Seed of Power bestowed by their Patron grows internally and externally within its Host, bolstering them physically and the still quiet voice from within providing an ever present companion.

Seed of Power

The entity that exists within you shares the same life. If the Host dies, so too does the Seed. In an effort to preserve its Host, the Seed continually bestows an element of protection to it's Host. After each Short Rest, the Host gains Temporary HP equal to the Host's Warlock level + CON. The Seed can also be evoked as a protective, armour-like skin completely encasing the Host. As a Bonus Action the Host's AC becomes 10 + DEX + CON. (Unable to gain the benefits of Armour or a Shield). While present the Host gains a Natural Weapon with which they are proficient. I.e. Claws, Horns, Tail, etc. and Charisma can be used instead of Strength or Dexterity for the Attack and Damage rolls.

The damage of your Natural Weapon Attack is 1d6. At 5th increase to 1d8. At 11 increase to 1d10. At 17th increase to 1d12.

Ravenous Hunger

Consumed by an otherworldly hunger, the Seed can eat all manner of creatures and restored by them. In dangerous circumstances the Seed can consume the life force of its Host to temporarily bolster their defences. This feature grants the following benefits:

- As an Action the Seed/Host can eat a slain Medium or smaller Creature once per Long Rest to gain Temporary HP equal to the CR of the creature (minimum 1) + CON. Eating a creature consumes it completely, leaving nothing behind.

- Enhanced by the Seed, the Host gains immunity to Disease, as well as Advantage against the Poisoned Condition and Resistance to Poison Damage.

- When Damage received would bring the Host's current HP to half of its maximum or less, as a Reaction, the Seed can consume half of the Host's Maximum HP and convert it to Temporary HP which will then take any remaining damage still to be reconciled. The immense strain in performing this feat immediately causes the Host to gain 1 Level of Exhaustion. This reduction lasts until the end of the next Long Rest.

At 5th Level the Host can consume creatures of size Large or smaller over the course of 1 minute. At 11th Level the size category increases by 1. At 17th Level the size category increases by 1.

Apex Predator

The nature of the Seed manifest in the Prime Material Plane takes on the aspects of a predator, be it a Lion, Bear, Shark, Owl, etc. The choice of which can be represented visually in the manifested second skin. The Host gains Proficiency with the Perception and Survival Skills.

Aspect of the Consumed

Starting at 6th Level, when you eat a creature as per the Ravenous Hunger Feature you can gain one Feature that Creature. For example a Creature's Water Breathing, Breath Attack, Blindsight, Resistance, Swim Speed, etc. The Feature gained must be agreed with the DM.

When you eat another creature, you can choose to retain any currently held Feature or change your current Feature for another the new meal would be able to provide.

Frenzied Hunter

The thrill of the hunt dives the Seed of Power into a frenzy. Starting at 10th Level after damaging a Creature with their Natural Weapon the Host Marks that Creature. Only one Creature can be Marked in this way at a time. Damaging a Creature with their Natural Weapon always Marks them. Doing so grants the following benefits:

- When making an attack with their Natural Weapon against a Creature that has been Marked, the Host rolls an additional Damage Die and adds it to the total damage dealt.

- After taking the Attack Action, the Host can make one additional Natural Weapon Attack granted by Eldritch Symbiosis as a Bonus Action.

- Perception and Survival Checks made to Track the Marked Creature are made with Advantage.

Primal Evolution

At the pinnacle of synergy between Seed and Host, the lines of distinction blur and fade away completely. Beginning at 14th Level the Seed and Host become one, granting the following benefits:

- Evoking the second skin no long requires a Bonus Action but is simply a thought.

- As two minds occupy the same body, the Host becomes Resistant to spells and effects that would attempt to beguile and manipulate. The Host gains Advantage to Save against any Charm or Sleep Spells and Effects.

- While the second skin is present, the Host gains a Fly, Climb, Swim or Burrow speed equal to their current Speed. This choice can only be made once and cannot be changed.

Primal Evolution - Eagle

Gain the ability to take flight with wings or other similar means.

Primal Evolution - Shark

Gain the ability to breathe and swim underwater without effort.

Primal Evolution - Spider

Gain the ability to perceive your surroundings through non-visual means and climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.

Primal Evolution - Worm

Gain the ability to sense vibrations through solid surfaces and tunnel through sand, earth, mud, or ice without difficulty.
