Cleric
Base Class: Cleric

Ilmater, The One Who Endures, has blessed you with certain abilities. Why you have been chosen remains a mystery, something that lies hidden just beyond a forgotten memory. Ilmater has come to you in what perhaps seemed like a dream. Whether or not reality was in play is up for question when dealing with deity's such as this. You met in between worlds, a sort of after-image appearing in some far off plane that The Crying God finds himself in. Though the meeting remains a hazy memory at best, what you remember clearly is the state of this man you saw. Strapped to a rock with barbed chain crisscrossing his body, biting deep into his flesh. Blood... Golden blood drips from his wounds. Many dagger piercing his body from all angles, each breathe ragged as his lungs press again and again into the tip of a precisely placed dagger. This sight of grotesque gore seems almost second in your memory to one other thing. The smile he held upon his face, and the gentleness in his eyes are firmly set in your memory. Something catches your eyes, a slight shift of his arm brings attention to the simple red cord wrapped around his arm, as well as his other arm, and his legs. A conversation was had, however long is lost to your memory, as well as the contents. But at the end you remember being asked, "So you agree to ease the suffering of the world?" You don't remember your response. All you know is when you awoke next, you found a simple red cord inexplicably wrapped around one of your limbs. You also carry a new weight, the weight of suffering for everyone you meet. Can you stand tall and withstand all that comes? Or will you fall for the reason of protecting another?

Binding of The Rack

Your red cord comes to life and turns ethereal. At your command, as an action, you choose an ally within 30 feet from you that you can see. The cord combines you two together. This cord can move through enemies and walls as long as the two individuals remain within 30 feet of each other. When the spell's target is attacked or targeted with a wisdom saving throw, the caster is the one to receive it instead. On an attack the caster takes full damage, the damage counts as magical. While channeling this divinity you have advantage on concentration saving throws. This divinity remains active when knocked unconscious, however damage taken from the connection only counts as one failed death saving throw. While this Channel Divinity is active, all healing spells add your spellcasting modifier to all healing spells (stacking with healing spells spellcasting modifier)

The red cord can be destroyed with a magic slashing weapon or magical fire. The AC is 15 and the HP is 40.

Ilmater's Hypocrisy

You exist within 2 extremes of the same emotional scale.

  • Ilmater's Grace: You can enter this state of mind a few different ways.

    1. Calming yourself for 1 minute.
    2. Casting Binding of The Rack.
    3. As an action you can make a DC 20 wisdom check

While in this state of mind you can roll twice and choose the highest on all healing spells, but find yourself having difficulty causing harm to others. You have disadvantage on all attack rolls that target someone who is not an immediate threat to you or an ally.

  • Sufferer's Bane: You can enter this state of mind a few different ways.

    1. As an action you can change to this state of mind
    2. You see an innocent or an ally fall unconscious and fail a DC 10 wisdom saving throw
    3. You see an innocent or an ally die and fail a DC 15 wisdom saving throw

You must choose a target, that target becomes the subject of your judgement. While in this state of mind you find yourself solely focused on putting an end to those who are causing pain as well as their defenders. You have advantage on all attack rolls that focus your target. Your direct focus means there are more pressing matters than your allies. You can not cast healing spells while in this state of mind if your target is still capable of causing harm.

Aura of the Martyr

While in the Ilmater's Grace state of mind, those around you feel the calming effect and as such have advantage on saves from being charmed, frightened, or put to sleep.

While in the Sufferer's Bane state of mind, those around you feel the boiling rage barely held behind an ever thinning veil of peace. You and your ally's gain a +5 to intimidation checks

The Endless Cord

You see pain all around you, it's almost endless. For what gain? Maybe if you took all the pain away, they would stop.

You can target a number of creatures equal to your proficiency modifier to be targeted by your Bindings of The Rack Channel Divinity. Yu gain resistance to all damage taken from this divinity for up to 10 minutes after casting.

The cord(s) become(s) unbreakable.

Judgement or Forgiveness

A simple touch is all it takes to stop the suffering of others. In this case it's a very specific kind of touch.

While in the Ilmater's Grace state of mind ,you can cast lesser restoration once per long rest

OR

While in the Sufferer's Bane state of mind, you can cast inflict wounds once per long rest.
