Cleric
Base Class: Cleric

Faith is central to the powers of a cleric. Your deity empowers you, and you serve it as best as you can.

Whatever the cause, one of those things is no longer true.

Perhaps your resolve was tested and found wanting. Perhaps, in a moment of weakness, you chose yourself over your god. Perhaps you came across information that destroyed the faith you previously held.
Perhaps your god is no longer with you.

Domain Spells

Each domain has a list of spells - its domain spells that you gain at the cleric levels noted in the domain description. Once you gain a domain spell, you always have it prepared, and it doesn’t count against the number of spells you can prepare each day.

If you have a domain spell that doesn’t appear on the cleric spell list, the spell is nonetheless a cleric spell for you.

Cleric Level Spells
1st false life, fog cloud
3rd detect thoughts, zone of truth
5th blink, counterspell
7th confusion, hallucinatory terrain
9th greater restoration, mislead

The Search for Meaning

When you prepare your Cleric spells, you can choose another class’s spell list and prepare a number of spells from that list up to your proficiency bonus. These spells can be a maximum of 1st-level, count as Cleric spells for you, and count against the number of spells you can prepare each day.

At 5th, 9th, 13th, and 17th level, the maximum level of these spells increases to 2nd-level, 3rd-level, 4th-level, and 5th-level, respectively.

(Note: This restriction is too unwieldy to properly program into DNDBeyond, so I'm trusting the player to abide by the rules properly.)

Change of Minds, Hearts, Plans

While you are concentrating on a spell, you can expend a use of your Channel Divinity to stop concentrating on that spell and cast a prepared spell of the same level with a casting time of 1 action. When you cast a spell in this way, you do not expend a spell slot when you do so.

Not Faith if You can Prove It

You have learned to question everything – even yourself. You gain advantage on Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saving throws against mind-altering effects, and your memories cannot be altered against your will.

Potent Spellcasting

At 8th level, you add your Wisdom modifier to the damage you deal with any cleric cantrip.

Seek the Truth Wherever It May be Found

The truth can be found in many forms, if only you learn how to look for it. You can cast a spell from any spell list, expending a spell slot of the appropriate level. Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest, and the effects of any spell cast in this way end when you use this feature again.
