Bard
Base Class: Bard

Your culinary arts have evolved from expert cooking to magical creations which amaze and delight all those lucky enough to consume them.

Culinary Entertainer

As a bard of the culinary college, your magic is not musically derived; instead, it is produced by your cooking, baking and beverage-preparing. You gain proficiency in cook's utensils, if you do not have it already, and proficiency in either brewer's supplies or a herbalism kit. You may also use any of these tools as your spellcasting focus.

On top of this, you are able to cast the spells Goodberry and Create Food and Water once each per long rest, without the use of a spell slot.

Brewer's Supplies

You gain proficiency in Brewer's Supplies.

Herbalist's Kit

You gain proficiency in Herbalist's Kit

Tasty treats

You can create delicious treats which imbue health into your allies. Each time you long rest, you prepare a number of magically infused tasty treats equal to your charisma modifier (minimum of 1). As a bonus action, a creature can consume a treat and gain 1d8 temporary hitpoints.

Each treat can only be eaten once, and the hitpoints are not stackable (therefore a creature eating two treats will only receive the temporary hitpoints benefit from one treat). Uneaten treats disappear at the beginning of the next long rest.

The amount of temporary hitpoints gained when consuming a tasty treat increases to 2d8 at level 6 and 3d8 at level 12.

Edible Magic

At 6th level, all of your spells can now be prepared in an edible form. Twice per short rest, you can spend an hour to create a dish, drink or baked good of your choice and imbue it with a spell, expending a spell slot equal to the spell's level (or no spell slot if it is a cantrip). The magic in the food lasts until eaten or the next long rest. The spell's effect takes place immediately upon the dish being eaten, with effects depending on the spell type (as listed below).

Single target spells

Melee or ranged attack spells will immediately deal the damage to the consumer upon being eaten, regardless of armor class. If the spell requires a spell save, the consumer will immediately have to make the save or suffer the effects of the spell. Spells which heal singular targets will immediately heal the consumer.

Multiple target spells or spells with Area of Effect (AoE)

Spells which can target one or multiple individuals with projectiles, for example magic missile or scorching ray, instead deal all damage/effects to the consumer (provided the consumer fails the respective spell save). Spells with an AoE will have that AoE applied, originating from and affecting the consumer. All creatures within the AoE must make the respective saving throw for the spell cast.

If the food is imbued with a healing spell targeting multiple creatures, the consumer chooses the creatures the spell will affect.

Other Effect and Utility Spells

Spells which have other effects which occur outside of an individual creature, eg. Mending or Major Illusion, can be cast by the consumer once within one minute of consuming the edible spell. For spells with effects which apply to an individual, eg. Disguise Self or Invisibility, the spell immediately takes effect on the consumer . These effects occur with the same duration as if the spell was cast normally.

Both Counterspell and Dispel Magic can be used to render the food nonmagical. Detect Magic can detect the magic inside the food, as can an intentional investigation or arcana check with a DC equal to 10 plus the caster's Charisma modifier.

At 10th level you may use this feature 3 times per short rest, and at 14th level you may use this feature 4 times per short rest.

Secret Recipe

At 14th level, you discover culinary secrets which elevate your cooking tenfold. During a short rest you may spend the hour preparing your magical secret recipe. You make enough for a single serving. The creature who eats this serving gains all the benefits of a single long rest. All those within 15 ft of the individual consuming the meal smell the delicious magical scent and gain 1d10 temporary hitpoints, which are stackable with temporary hitpoints from your Tasty Treats.

You may use this feature once per long rest.
