Base Class: Barbarian
For most barbarians, rage is the catalyst for immense strength. Path of the Shaman is a path that turns that rage into fuel for powerful magic otherwise unavailable.
These types of barbarians may have a special connection to magic, or been chosen by otherworldly powers in order to lead or change the world around them.
Spellcasting
At 3rd level, your rage unlocks your potential to cast magic during raging.
Cantrips
You learn two cantrips of your choice from the druid spell list. You learn an additional druid cantrip of your choice at 10th level.
Spell Slots
The Path of the Shaman Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your druid spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell’s level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.
For example, if you know the 1st-level spell thunderwave and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast thunderwave using either slot.
Preparing and Casting Spells
The Path of the Shaman table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your druid spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these druid spells, you must expend a slot of the spell’s level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.
You prepare the list of druid spells that are available for you to cast, choosing from the druid spell list. The Spells Known column of the Path of the Shaman table shows how many spells you can prepare of 1st level or higher.
You can also change your list of prepared spells when you finish a long rest. Preparing a new list of druid spells requires time spent in prayer and meditation: at least 1 minute per spell level for each spell on your list.
Spellcasting Ability
Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for your druid spells, since your spells come from understanding and harnessing the power of your rage. You use your Wisdom whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Wisdom modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a druid spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.
Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier
Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier
Spellcasting Focus
You can use a druidic focus (see the Adventuring Gear section) as a spellcasting focus for your druid spells.

Magical Fury
Starting from when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can cast and concentrate on spells during your rage. You also gain these benefits when raging:
- In addition to your Wisdom modifier, you also add your Strength modifier to any attack roll or spell save DC when casting a spell.
- You have resistance to psychic damage as well as bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
- You add your Strength modifier to Wisdom, Intelligence, and Charisma saving throws.
Follow Through
At 6th level, during your rage, after you take the Attack action, you may use a bonus action to cast a cantrip.
At 11th level, you may also cast 1st level spell, at 17th you may cast a 2nd level spell, and at 20th a 3rd level spell.
Burst of Power
As an action, you may end your rage in a burst of magical energy. When you do, you may cast a spell you have prepared that targets a single creature or object. Each creature you choose within a 10ft radius centered on you becomes affected by the spell.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
At 17th level the radius increases to 30ft.
Mindless Master
Starting at 14th level, when you enter a rage, you can cast a spell you have prepared without expending a spell slot.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your rage damage, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
