Base Class: Monk
Monks who become Warriors of Shifting Mass no longer see their physical forms as a solid state, but one that is malleable. Narrowing their focus on changing the very composition of their mortal shells, they can grow to the size of a giant or shrink to the size of a keyhole in an instant. The monasteries of this ancient tradition do not judge an aspirant on their character or physicality, but the strength of their will and spirit. Thus, a Warrior of Shifting Mass can come from all walks of life. Some seek to tower over others to instill fear with their mighty stature. While others use their newfound diminutive stature to gather evidence of corruption within their societies and bring about revolution. One thing, however, is for certain. Those who follow the Warrior of Shifting Mass are destined to be a driving force of change just as mercurial as their form.
Expand and Contract
3rd-level Warrior of Shifting Mass feature
Your resolute focus allows you to manipulate the matter that composes your body by enlarging your size. As a bonus action, you can spend 1 focus point to shift to Form of the Ogre or Form of the Mouse for 10 minutes or until you lose concentration. You may use your Wisdom instead of Constitution when making concentration saving throws. While in either form you gain the following benefits:
Form of the Ogre. If you are smaller than Large, you become Large, along with anything you are wearing. If you lack the room to become Large, your size doesn’t change. In addition, your melee attacks gain 5 feet of reach, and, once on each of your turns, one of your unarmed strikes can deal an extra 1d6 damage to a target on a hit.
Form of the Mouse. You become Tiny, along with anything you are wearing. While this size, you gain a +5 bonus to Dexterity (Stealth) checks and can move through gaps up to 6 inches across without squeezing. If you lose concentration or the duration ends in a space smaller than your normal form can fit, you are shunted 10 feet to the nearest space that can or you take 2d10 force damage and repeat the process at the beginning of your next turn.
You may choose to break concentration early at the beginning of your turn.
Shifting Stature
6th-level Warrior of Shifting Mass feature
Through the constant change of your composition, you gain more benefits by shifting your natural form.
Miniature Might. While you are tiny or smaller you have advantage on Dexterity Saving Throws and ranged attacks against you suffer disadvantage.
Immense Stature. While you are Large or bigger you have advantage on Strength Checks and Strength Saving Throws. Additionally, you can cast Thunderwave, without its components, at level 3 once per transformation. Wisdom is the spellcasting ability for this spell.
In addition, the extra damage you deal with the the Ogre Form feature increases to 1d8.
Mercurial Self
11th-level Warrior of Shifting Mass feature
Your form can flow like water in a storm, allowing for new and more sudden ways to shift your mortal shell.
Toppling Shift. When you activate a Form that turns you Larger or bigger, you can spend 1 extra focus point to send opponents within 5 feet from you flying backward. They must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. Opponents must be the size of the form you shift to or smaller or they automatically pass the saving throw..
Sudden Shift. You can now activate a form that turns you Tiny or smaller as a reaction to getting hit with an attack. By spending 1 extra focus point you gain +5 AC until the start of your next turn. If your new AC would have made the triggering attack miss, it does. You can then move up to 5 feet without provoking opportunity attacks. You can choose to stay in this form or return to your previous size at the beginning of your next turn. If you do not have a smaller form to shrink to you cannot use this ability.
In addition, the extra damage you deal with the the Ogre Form feature increases to 1d10.
Polymorphous Proportions
17th-level Warrior of Shifting Mass feature
The training of your body and spirit is complete allowing you to unleash its full potential. As a bonus action, you can spend 4 focus points to transform into either of the following forms. This transformation lasts for 10 minutes or until your concentration ends and you gain the following benefits. You may use your Wisdom instead of Constitution when making concentration saving throws.
Form of the Ant. You become smaller than Tiny, along with anything you are wearing. While this size, you gain a +10 bonus to Dexterity (Stealth) checks and a +5 bonus to AC, you can move through gaps up to 1 inch across without squeezing, and you can’t make weapon or unarmed attacks.
Form of the Giant. You become Huge, along with anything you are wearing. At activation, you gain 30 temporary hit points, your reach is increased by 5 feet, and if an attack misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier. In addition, once per turn, you can choose to have one of your unarmed attacks do 2d12 extra damage.
You may choose to break concentration early at the beginning of your turn.
