Base Class: Barbarian
Dragonborn of the Adamantine bloodline carry in their veins the blood of ferocious and stalwart warriors, and in their rage they may summon these powers to transform into an Adamantine Berserker, a most feared and vicious creature of battle. Their scales are nigh impenetrable and their claws and teeth rival the finest Adamantine masterwork blades, and their ferocity is boundless. There is no greater ally nor more treacherous foe than the berserking Adamantine drake.
Adamantine Berserker
The blood of the ancestral drakes boils within you, unleashing your rage and transforming you into a rampaging Adamantine Berserker Drake. While raging you gain the following benefits:
Adamantine Scales: Your armor class is increased by 2 as your scales harden into unyielding armor, and the vicious spikes they form deal damage equal to your rage bonus damage x 2 to any creature that damages you with a melee attack. Your unarmed strikes deal 1d8 damage plus your strength modifier.
Breath of Shards: Your breath weapon becomes greatly enhanced, increasing it's range to a 5 by 60 ft. line (DEX save) and it's damage is doubled.
Razor Fists
When you enter your rage, The scales on your hands grow long and razor sharp, causing your strikes to rend flesh and pierce armor with ease. When you make an unarmed attack against an enemy, you choose whether the strike is Slashing or Piercing:
Slashing: You slash viciously with your claws, causing severe wounds on any target with blood and causing them to suffer blood loss equal to 1d4 damage at each start of their turns until a Medicine check (DC 13) is made to stop the bleeding or any magical healing is used on the target. This effect can stack up to 4 times per target.
or
Piercing: You strike with precision and strength, thrusting your spiked fists easily through even the toughest armor. Any time you strike at an enemy who is wearing armor or is considered armored, their AC is reduced by 2 until the end of your turn.
Adamantine Resilience
You are immune to fire damage (other than dragon fire which deals half damage) due to the incredibly high melting point of your Adamantine scales.
Fury of the Drake
Once per rage, the bloodlust of the Adamantine Berserker overwhelms the Barbarian, causing it to enter a state of unbridled fury. The Berserker can enter a trance of focused ferocity, doubling it's speed and gaining an infinite number of attacks per action. This barrage of attacks only ends when one of the attacks misses.
During Fury of the Drake, the Berserker can hardly distinguish friend from foe. Every time the Berserker makes an attack while an ally is within 5ft of them, the ally must make a DC 13 Persuasion check or be attacked by the Berserker.
Ravaging Critical
The wickedly sharp claws of the Adamantine Berserker inflict terrible wounds on critical strikes.
Slashing Critical: When the Berserker lands a critical hit with a Slashing attack, it automatically applies 4 stacks of Bleed and then deals an additional 1d4 damage per Bleed stack.
Piercing Critical: When the Berserker lands a critical hit with a Piercing attack, it rends the armor of it's target, permanently decreasing it's AC by 1 until the armor is repaired. This effect can stack indefinitely.
Furious Critical: When the Berserker lands a critical hit during Fury of the Drake, the dice rolled are tripled instead of doubled and the effect of Slashing Critical or Piercing Critical is applied as well.

Posted May 23, 2025I created it mainly with the concept in mind and meant to playtest it to balance but I never ended up getting the chance. I expect balancing would indeed be quite easy, though I created it with the intent of it being an entirely combat focused Path (the character I had in mind for it was a gladiator of sorts) so I intentionally made the combat prowess exceptional, but some tuning wouldn’t hurt.

Posted May 22, 2025Isnt this subclass just a little overtuned? It could be balanced pretty easy though, the concept and theming are spectacular however
