Base Class: Warlock
The Spiral is one of the Entities. It is based on the fear of madness, that your world isn’t right, that your mind is lying to you. It deals with deception, lying, deceiving the mind and senses.
The Spiral is associated with fractal patterns, hallucinations, doubt of sanity, impossible geometry, maddening realms and dimensions, doors and mazes.

Expanded Spell List
Avatar of the spiral lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.
Door to distortion
Starting at 1rst level, you may concentrate and conjure a door anywhere you wish within 60ft. , spending an action, once per long rest, including underneath solid surfaces, standing alone with no attached structure, and taking the place of other doors. The door may look however you like and leads to the 'insides' of the spiral. This dimension is an near impossible maze of carpets, painting, and mirrors. As long as the door exists anyone may exit or enter at any moment as long as they can access the door, however enemies will more than likely not pay much attention to the door unless it is placed in a suspicious spot OR they see someone walk into it. One placed the door cannot disappear for 10 minutes and can only exist for 20 minutes, disappearing whenever the player chooses. Creatures inside will take a d4 of necrotic damage every 12 hours, increasing to a D6 after 2 days, excluding the player. Also excluding the player, the inside of the dimension is considered difficult terrain due to the fractal hallucinations. The player (alongside anyone they lead with them) may spend time and explore the maze to find doors that allow you to leave at any location they were at previously at. It takes 12 hours to travel up to 80,00ft. When exiting, they will leave out of the closest door to the exit point, conjuring one if there isnt a valid door within 500ft. This door becomes normal again after 5 seconds of being closed or disappears if if was conjured. Creatures aside from the player (unless they are following the player), must make a intelligence check DC 20 to find an exit and will exit out at a random location.
Fractal Claws
Being an avatar of the spiral you have the innate ability to contort your fingers into spikes. Starting at 6th level you can attack someone with your spikes and deal 1d6 piercing damage with 5ft. of range. This increases by 1d6 at 7th(2d6), 11th(3d6), and 17th(4d6) level.
Aswell, using an action you may inscribe a fractal onto any surface within 5 ft. Using a reaction, the player may shoot spikes out of the surface, damaging any creature standing on the same tile as the inscribed surface, dealing the same damage as your fingers. The tile the spikes are on is considered difficult terrain and deals 2d4 piercing damage to anyone who walks onto it.
Door to distortion+
At 10th level Door to distortion grows stronger. You may now choose up to 3 creatures, those creatures take no damage when inside the dimension, and are exempt from the difficult terrain. Aswell, a combination chest of drawers/cabinet will start appearing in the dimension. This object appears every 100ft while not in view of another chest of drawers and every object stored inside will always appear inside.
Distort physical form
Starting at level 14 you can twist and distort your physical form and split into fractals. When you may spend a reaction to take half damage from an attack

Posted Nov 20, 2025As a fan of the Magnus Archives, this is really cool! I can't see the expanded spell list, and it seems a little funny to me to start the fractal claws damage at 1d6, increasing to 2d6 at 7th level, instead of just starting out as 2d6 at 6th level, but other than that everything here is incredibly flavorful and the abilities are mechanically cool!
