Base Class: Fighter
Flameforged: Wielders of the Eternal Flame
The Flameforged are fighters whose bodies and spirits have been tempered in the heat of the forge. Whether through mystical rituals, divine intervention, or deep attunement with the primordial forces of fire, these warriors have bonded with the elemental flames, becoming living avatars of its power. To them, fire is not only a destructive force but also a symbol of renewal, purification, and strength. They embody the dual nature of fire: the ability to protect and to obliterate, to build and to burn.
Flameforged fighters harness the raw energy of flame and weave it into their combat style. Their weapons are wreathed in fire, each strike delivering a punishing blaze that scorches their foes. Their mastery over flame is not purely offensive—they are also capable of shaping fire to shield themselves from harm, using it to reduce damage from incoming attacks and burn those foolish enough to engage them in close combat.
Those who follow the path of the Flameforged are often called upon in times of great conflict, where their flames can turn the tide of battle. Their fiery auras inspire both awe and fear among their allies and enemies. They are warriors whose hearts burn as hot as their weapons, always seeking to test their limits and grow stronger in the fires of adversity.
As a Flameforged, your connection to fire grants you powers that transcend the physical. You learn to call forth the fiery energies of the world, channeling them into devastating attacks, protective flames, and even a final transformation into a living incarnation of fire itself. When the heat of battle is at its peak, your flames roar to life, engulfing the battlefield and leaving only ashes in your wake.
Playing a Flameforged Fighter
Playing a Flameforged offers you a unique blend of physical prowess and elemental might. Your flame-infused abilities allow you to deal extra fire damage with your weapon attacks and punish enemies that come too close. You can create a fiery aura around you that radiates heat and harm, forcing enemies to rethink their approach. Your flames also protect you, mitigating damage and retaliating against attackers.
As you grow in power, your abilities scale to make you more dangerous to groups of enemies, able to unleash bursts of fire with your attacks and ultimately transform into an unstoppable avatar of flame. You balance offensive power and defensive resilience, making you a formidable presence on the battlefield.
Origins of the Flameforged
The origin of a Flameforged warrior varies by individual. Some are blessed by gods of fire, such as Kossuth, the Lord of Flames, or Imix, the Prince of Elemental Fire. Others may have discovered ancient rituals that unlocked their latent connection to the Plane of Fire. A few might have survived a near-death encounter with a powerful fire-based entity and emerged changed, their souls infused with the blazing power of their former foe.
Regardless of how they came to wield their fiery powers, Flameforged fighters are often revered and feared. They stand as guardians of their people, defending them with the power of flame, or as mercenaries and warriors seeking challenges that test the limits of their strength.
Role in the Party
As a Flameforged, your primary role is to be a front-line combatant, dishing out damage with your flame-infused attacks and controlling the battlefield with your fire-based abilities. You excel in situations where you can get up close and personal with enemies, using your fiery aura and melee attacks to wreak havoc on foes while shrugging off incoming damage with your fire-based defenses.
Your abilities also give you a degree of area control—whether through your flame aura or your ability to deal damage to enemies around you. When faced with groups of enemies, you can unleash bursts of flame that catch multiple foes in the blast, making you an effective crowd controller.
Your durability comes not only from your fighter abilities but also from the fire resistance and eventual immunity granted by your subclass. You can take hits and keep going, punishing enemies for every blow they land.
