Druid
Base Class: Druid

Druids of the Circle of the Slime Tamer revere the strange, amorphous life forms often dismissed by others as mindless monsters. They cultivate bizarre, otherworldly ecosystems teeming with oozes, jellies, and puddings. These druids form deep connections with these beings, shepherding their growth and even tending to gelatinous groves in pocket dimensions where slimes can multiply in peace.

Level 2: Slimebond

You learn to befriend and command lesser slimes and oozes. You can tame and control a number of oozes equal to your Wisdom modifier + your proficiency bonus.

Taming Process:

  • Taming a slime requires a 10-minute ritual, performed on a willing, subdued, or neutral ooze.

  • Once tamed, the ooze becomes friendly toward you and obeys your verbal or somatic commands to the best of its ability.

  • Tamed oozes act on your initiative and can be commanded using a bonus action on your turn to move or take an action.

  • You may have up to 2 tamed oozes active on the Material Plane at a time (increased to 3 at 14th level).

Tameable Ooze CR Limit by Level:

Druid Level Maximum CR of Tameable Ooze
2nd CR 1/2 or lower
6th CR 1
10th CR 2
14th CR 3

Note: If you tame a higher CR ooze and later fall below the level required to control it (such as via magical aging or ability score loss), that ooze becomes unruly and leaves your control until conditions are met again.

Level 3: Elemental Adapation

Once per long rest, you may attune your slimes to a specific elemental or essence type. Choose one of the following slime types: Fire, Cold, Acid, Poison, Necrotic, or Healing. All of your tamed oozes share this adaptation until you choose a different one. You may only choose the Tamed Slime for this Feature.

Each slime gains a minor feature based on its type:

Slime Type Bonus Effect
Fire Slime Its melee attacks deal an additional 1d4 fire damage.
Cold Slime Creatures hit by the slime’s attacks must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or have their speed reduced by 10 feet until the end of their next turn.
Acid Slime Its melee attacks ignore non-magical armor AC bonus (similar to Rust Monster).
Poison Slime Creatures hit by the slime’s attacks must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution save or be poisoned until the start of their next turn.
Necrotic Slime Once per turn when it deals damage, it can reduce the target's maximum HP by the same amount (max once per creature per long rest).
Healing Slime Instead of attacking, the slime may use its action to heal a creature it touches for 1d4 + your Wisdom modifier hit points (usable once per slime per short rest).

Balance Notes:

Only applies to slimes currently tamed and those summoned from the Grove.

Slimes with a damage type (e.g., Gray Ooze's acid) replace their base type with the chosen element for the duration.

Level 6: Slime Pocket Grove

You gain access to an extradimensional Slime Grove. As an action once per long rest, you can open a portal for 1 minute that allows you to transfer tamed oozes in or out. The Grove is a 30-foot-radius demiplane filled with gooey terrain and a regenerative environment for slimes. Slimes regain hit points at double the rate while resting there.

Level 10: Slime Apple Tree

In the center of your Slime Grove grows a magical tree that produces 1 slime apple per day. A tamed ooze in the Grove can consume one to attempt duplication.

  • Duplication Limit: Once per day, oozes may be duplicated.

  • You may have a number of duplicates equal to half druid level.

  • Duplicates vanish after 24 hours outside the Grove.

  • Duplicates cannot duplicate further, and cannot leave the Grove unless summoned using your Grove feature.

This duplication does not work on oozes of CR 3 or higher.

Level 14: Greater Slime Mastery

Your bond with your slimes deepens:

  • You may control up to three slimes in the Material Plane at once.

  • When commanding slimes, you may give orders to two oozes with the same bonus action.

  • You may fuse two CR 1 or lower oozes into a single CR 3 ooze for 1 minute as an action. The fused ooze has temporary hit points equal to the combined HP of both creatures.
