Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Instill fear into your enemies as a Medusa themed sorcerer.

Mythological Presence

At 1st level, your natural enchanting presence enthralls others. You can attempt to charm or force sleep upon creatures normally immune to those effects such as, elves, undead, and constructs. These types of creatures have advantage on their saving throws against being charmed or slept.

Serpentine Patience

Starting at 1st level, your serpentine natures allows you take the time to analyze and understand enemy maneuvers. Any creature that has taken its turn before you has disadvantage on saving throws against any spells you cast during the first round of combat.

You also gain temporary hit points equal to your level in this class every time you roll initiative, if you are last to go in the initiative order you gain temporary hit points equal to twice your level in this class instead.

At higher levels, you can apply one or more of the following uses for sorcery points when you roll initiative:

  • Starting at 2nd level, when you roll initiative, you can spend 1 sorcery point to gain a penalty to your initiative equal to your charisma modifier.
  • Starting at 6th level, when you roll initiative, you can spend 2 sorcery points to gain disadvantage on the roll.
  • Starting at 14th level, when you roll initiative, you can spend 4 sorcery points to automatically take last place in the initiative order.

If Looks Could Kill...

Starting at 6th level, you gain darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. If you already have darkvision from your race, its range increases by 30 feet.

When an enemy with a higher initiative than yours, that can see you, targets you with an attack, you can use your reaction to morph your face into an unsightly horror. The target must make a constitution saving throw against your sorcerer spell save DC. On a failed save, the target's attack against you fails, and they are petrified until the end of their next turn.

You can use this feature two times per short or long rest.

Looking Glass

Starting at 6th level, your supernatural connection to reflections allows you to observe creatures without looking directly at them. You gain the ability to cast the Scrying spell without material components or expending a spell slot. To cast the spell this way you must have access to a reflective surface such as a mirror, or pool of water.

You can use this feature two times per long rest.

Mother of Pegasus

At 14th level, you learn the flesh to stone, meld into stone, and find greater steed spells, and they count as sorcerer spells for you. You can cast find greater steed without expending a spell slot once per long rest. When you cast the spell this way, the only creature you can summon is a pegasus.

Self Reflection

Beginning at 18th level, you gain the ability to cast the Word of Recall spell without material components or expending a spell slot at the cost of 6 sorcery points. When you cast the spell this way, the location that you travel to may be any place of your choice that you've used your Looking Glass ability in the past 30 days, as long as the surface you used the ability on is still in that location. (i.e. if you used a mirror and it has been broken, or if you used a pool of water and it has evaporated, you can no longer teleport to those locations).
