Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

A blind warden who reads the world through vibration and resonance. By wielding paired chime axe-spears that can shift between thrown sensing instruments and extended melee tools, the tremor warden constructs and maintains a living acoustic map of the area that they protect.

Level 3: Shudder Sense

  • You are considered blind beyond 5 feet in the conventional sense.
  • Within 15 feet, you gain Tremorsense, but only for creatures or objects that are:
    • moving
    • in contact with a surface (ground, walls, trees, etc.)
  • Creatures that are:

    • perfectly still
    • flying without surface interaction
    • magically silenced

    are not automatically detected.

Tremor Anchors

Your Chime Javelins act as Tremor Anchors and give the following benefits within a zone:

  • Radius: 15 feet
  • Duration: 1 minute
  • Maximum Active: 2 anchors

Within an Anchor’s Radius:

You gain the following benefits:

  • You ignore disadvantage from blindness against creatures that are moving within the zone.
  • You know the location of creatures while they are moving within the zone
  • You become aware of disturbances in surfaces within the zone

Level 3: Resonance

When you deal damage to a creature:

  • You “tune” to its movement pattern until the end of your next turn
  • The first time it moves, you immediately sense:
    • direction
    • speed
    • whether it changed elevation

Level 7: Convergence Ground

While two anchors are active, the space where your shudder sense overlaps with the two anchors' radii becomes Convergence Ground, granting the ranger additional benefits.

  • The ranger is granted Blindsight within the space (and up to 10 feet above).
  • The ranger's first attack per turn on enemies in the space is made with advantage.

Level 11: Resonant Snare

When a creature you can detect through your Shudder Sense, Tremor Anchors, or Resonance moves, you can use your reaction to disrupt its motion.

Choose one of the following effects:

  • Halt. The creature’s speed becomes 0 until the end of the current turn.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Level 15: Resonant Dominion

Expanded Network

  • You can maintain up to 3 Tremor Anchors at once

Unbridled Convergence

  • Your Shudder Sense and Tremor Anchor spaces are now considered Convergence Ground, regardless of overlap.
