Base Class: Wizard
Not accustomed to long treks through places, a very experienced enchanter decided that they wouldn't have to. With their new enchanted backpack, they could simply slip inside and have friends carry them! But this wasn't enough. The wizard longed for a better view, so they put a lot of effort into creating familiar related bonuses so that they could be a part of the outside world without being in harms way.
Backpack Creation/Improved Familiars
At 2nd level, you gain the ability to create a backpack and replace it's pockets with a pocket dimension which acts like a bag of holding, accept it creates one to two rooms. One room gives you a 20ft cube and two gives you 10 ft cubes. You become proficient with leather worker's tools and sleight of hand if not already.
Additionally, your study of the various ways of using messengers and servants has lead you to have access to the spell Find Familiar and a better understanding of it. You can control your familiar as if it were your own body and telepathically communicate between it through any distance accept anti-magic fields, and through other planes.
You may now summon the following as a familiar:
Awakened Shrub, Baboon, Badger, Bat, Cat, Crab, Deer, Eagle, Frog, Giant Fire Beetle, Goat, Hawk, Homunculus, Hyena, Jackal, Lemur, Lizard, Octopus, Owl, Quipper, Rat, Raven, Scorpion, Sea, Horse, Spider, Vulture, Weasel, Blood Hawk, Camel, Flying Snake, Mastiff, Mule, Poisonous Snake, Pony, Al-Mi'raj, and Tressym.
Homely Immprovements
At 6th level, your backpack's pocket dimension changes, giving off the appearance of a nice cottage with a chimney fire. If you take a rest whilst in the backpack and the chimney is lit, it counts as a long rest.
Additionally, if you spend 5 hours in a row, controlling your familiar while the backpack is on a piece of furniture to big to fit in the backpack, you may teleport it to the inside of the bag.
Advanced Familiars
After spending more time percieving the outside world through the eyes and ears of a familiar, you have grown attuned to how to control it to the point where it may as well be your own body. You may now cast spells through your familiar.
(To cast spells with material components, the components must be within 5ft of your real body.)
Familiar Mastery
Starting at 14th level, you can gain the service of multiple familiars. When you cast your Find Familiar spell, you can conjure and control a maximum number of two instead of one creature at a time.
Finally, you can cast Find Familiar as an action without expending a spell slot or needing spell components. Once you cast Find Familiar in this way, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest, though you can still cast it normally using an available spell slot.

Posted Sep 5, 2021No, you use the familiar's Str, dex, con, and cha. Use your own wiz and int. I'm not sure what you mean with health saving throws.

Posted Apr 1, 2021The part that specifies you can controle the familiar as if it were your own body is the intention to let you use your stats (health saving throws etc..) or do you need to use the stats of the familiar?
I love this subclass either way
