Base Class: Paladin
The Oath of the Tempest is an ancient oath from Lemuria, calling to those who believe in the virtues of courage and justice. Sometimes called storm knights, thunderlords, and knights tempest, paladins who swear this oath embody their ideals like a roaring storm, taking the fight to the greatest of evils with fervor and the utmost dedication to honor and righteousness. Where others see storms as embodiments of chaos, they see them as representations of swift justice and the cleansing of evil. They adorn their armor with imagery of storms to represent their commitment to their oath's ideals, such as lightning bolts and thunderclouds.
Channel Divinity
When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.
Tempest Weapon. As an action, you can imbue one weapon that you are holding with the energy of the storm, using your Channel Divinity. For 1 minute, you deal an extra 1d6 lightning damage on damage rolls made with that weapon. The weapon also emits bright blue light in a 20-foot radius and dim light 20 feet beyond that. If the weapon is not already magical, it becomes magical for the duration.
You can end this effect on your turn as part of any other action. If you are no longer holding or carrying this weapon, or if you fall unconscious, this effect ends.
Thunderous Rebuke. You can use your Channel Divinity to retaliate against those who dare to attack you. When a creature within 5 feet of you that you can see hits you with an attack, you can use your reaction to cause the creature to make a Dexterity saving throw. The creature takes 2d8 lightning or thunder damage (your choice) on a failed saving throw, and half as much damage on a successful one.
