Bard
Base Class: Bard

Paper Crafting involves a wide and varied mixture of several different hand on skills that people use to create one, two or three-dimensional objects in paper and card stock. Bards who follow the college of papercraft do not receive any formal education but rather learn by observing other artists and repeating their actions over and over again.

Folded Paper Constructs

At 3rd level, you learn how to fold sheets in specific ways to produce tiny paper constructs (referred to as creations) and animate them.

Each creation takes 15 minutes and 1 gold worth of magic grade paper to craft. Every construct has unique properties once animated. You can animate and control one of these constructs by spending a bonus action.

Dragon: The dragon can be directed to perform the help action in battle. The dragon has AC (10+CHA modifier), 1 hit points and flying speed 40ft. It lasts for a maximum of 10 minutes.

Butterfly: Upon animating a butterfly the bard focuses on a specific individual met in the past and speaks a message for them that can be fit on one page (front and back). Once the incantation is over every word spoken by the caster appears on the butterfly, and the construct starts flying towards the recipient of the message with flying speed of 20ft.

Mouse:
Upon animating this construct the bard goes deaf and starts hearing every sound in a 60ft radius around the mouse (the closer to the mouse the source is, the clearer and vice-versa). This construct can be animated from distance once a day for a maximum of 10 minutes.

Spider and Fly:
Upon animating the spider or the fly, the bard is blinded and can see (but not hear) through the construct. The construct has darkvision and if the bard is able to read lips he/she can do so. These constructs are small and can easily hide. The fly has flying speed of 30ft while the spider can climb and move on the ground at a speed of 35ft. The connection with these constructs lasts for a maximum of 10 minutes.

Owl:
Upon animating this construct, it flies up till reaching 100 above ground. The owl moves in a 50 ft radius around the bard animating it for a maximum of 2 hours per inspiration die spent. Once the bard retrieves the owl after a flight, a rough map of the area (width and length at the discretion of the DM) is now printed on the parchment the construct was of. Any map generated this way is not accurate and only consists of key land morphological features and largely populated areas (medium and big cities).

Additional creations with different properties are left to the player creativity and can be agreed upon with your DM

Each use of this feature consumes an inspiration die.

Paper Conduit

When you join the College of Papercraft at 3rd level, you gain the ability to imbue spells into your paper Dragonflies for a short period of time (1 round).

When casting a spell you can decide to do so through one of your creations. Your dragonflies have flying speed of 30ft per round and can be at a certain distance from you, scaling with level (20ft lv 3, 60 ft lv 6, 90ft lv 9, 150ft lv 15, 300ft lv 20), before losing the imbued spell. Creations turn to ashes once they release the spell they are imbued with.

Crafting a Dragonfly takes 15 minutes of time and requires 1 gold of magical grade paper. Charisma is your spellcasting modifier for these spells.

Quilling

At 6th level, you gain the ability to quill paper sheets with specific patterns. As a reaction, the bard can call upon these quilled sheets causing them to produce different effects based on the pattern engraved on them. Every effect lasts one round and sheets quilled this way can not be reused. A bard can use this feature a number of times equal to his/her charisma modifier after each long-rest.

Rock: each sheet becomes more durable and flexible and can be used to enhance one armor class. The paper sheets encase the armor and shield of the target and grant AC equal to the bard charisma modifier. The target also becomes vulnerable to fire and slashing damages and resistant to piercing and bludgeoning damages. Finally, while this feature is active, the target has disadvantage against saving throws involving fire damages and enemies have advantage on fire-based attack rolls directed to him/her. This reaction can be used after seeing the attack roll.

A target must be wielding a shield and wearing armor to receive this feature bonuses. If the target is hit with a fire attack the paper encasing the armor burns and the target is freed of any of their effects

A bard using this feature needs 15 gold worth of pre-quilled paper with the necessary pattern.

Scissor: you cause previously quilled sheets to wrap around the edge of a melee weapon dealing slashing damages and harden causing its edge to grow sharper. Each attack made with this weapon (whether it's the bard performing it or not) deal additional slashing damages equal to 1d6 (2d6 at lv12 and 4d6 at lv18) plus the bard's charisma modifier. When making an attack with a weapon enhanced this way add +1 (+2 at lv12 and +3 at level 18) to the attack roll.
Finally, should the wielder of the weapon be hit by a fire-based attack, the weapon becomes incandescent. The wielder can choose whether to hold it, suffering additional 2d6 fire damages or drop it. The wielder has disadvantage against saving throws involving fire damages and enemies have advantage on fire-based attack rolls directed to the wielder.

A target must be wielding a melee weapon dealing slashing damages to receive this feature bonuses. If the target is hit with a fire attack the paper enveloping the weapon burns and the target is freed of any of their effects.

A bard using this feature needs 10 gold worth of pre-quilled paper with the pattern of the scissor.

Paper: you cause a long trail of paper sheets to wrap around a target. The target rolls a STR save, if it fails, the enemy is restrained, has vulnerability to fire, has disadvantage against saving throws involving fire damages, and players have advantage on fire-based attack rolls directed to the restrained enemy. If the target succeeds it has vulnerability to next fire attack, has disadvantage against saving throws involving fire damages, players have advantage on fire-based attack rolls directed to the target, but it is not restrained.

If the target is hit with a fire attack the paper binds burn and the target is freed of any of their effects. A target with fire damage immunity does not become vulnerable to fire. A target with no physical body can not be restrained this way nor receives any other effect from this feature. A target on fire automatically makes the save against this feature.

Good on Paper

At 14th level, your mastery over papercraft allows you to enhance the strength of the spells imbued in your paper conduit. Whenever you cast a spell that heals or deals damages, you can add a die equal to the one you use for your bardic inspiration.

This feature can be used a number of times equal to your charisma modifier per long rest.
