Base Class: Druid
You have allowed colonies of different invertebrates to live within your body, you have attuned yourself with the insects of the animal kingdom, being able to call forth more powerful beetles. You are more in tune with the smaller exoskeleton beasts that you come in contact with. often dissuading fellow adventurers from stepping on that ant that may have useful information.
The connection you form with these insects might be one of reverence, where you offer your very being as a living sacrifice to the many denizens you let in. You might be the target of a parasitic colony that has unconsciously gifted you a power that allows you to control lesser insects. You might even be the chosen host for a swarm of locusts as the messenger of a god or devil of pestilence.
Insect Blood
When you choose this circle at 2nd level, the insects within your body eat away at any unwanted foreign substances, you gain resistance to Poison damage.
At Higher Levels: The insects inside you have become faster and more efficient, Starting at 10th level you are immune to Poison damage and the Poisoned condition.
Colony Shaper
Starting at 2nd level, you can summon the powers of formidable insects to aid in combat. As an action, you can expend a use of your Wild Shape feature to summon one of the following insects to your side, you can only keep one insect of this type under your control at a time;
Bullet Hornet Swarm: A swarm of 2' long metallic looking hornets that swarm around a free hand, the swarm has 20 charges, as an Action you can expend 1 charge to make a single ranged attack with the following stat block.
| Bullet Hornet | 1d12 piercing | (60/180) |
Blade Edged Beetle: A winged beetle with 2 long sharp bladed mandibles, the Blade Edged Beetle is a Melee Weapon that attaches itself to a free hand, when you make a ranged attack with this weapon you can use a Bonus Action to return it to you as long as it is still within 30 feet of you.
| Blade Edged Beetle | 2d6 slashing | Finesse, Thrown (10/30) |
Scythe Mantis: A large mantis that obeys your will and allows you to wield this creature much like an actual scythe. The mantis talons are vicious in their cuts, whenever a critical hit is made with this weapon you roll 3x the dice damage instead of the usual 2x.
| Scythe Mantis | 3d4 slashing | Heavy, Two Handed, Reach |
Ironclad Dome Beetle: A shield shaped bug that can effectively protect the user from incoming damage. This insect is a +1 Shield that gives you Advantage to Dexterity saving throws while wielding the Ironclad Dome Beetle.
Carapace Hive: A writhing mass of chitinous beetles that envelope your torso, you gain 25 temporary hit points, while you have these temporary hit points you gain a weakness to Thunder damage and have resistance to all other damage except Psychic.
Lip Worm: A 3' long deep pink worm that latches on to your vocal chords changing your voice. The Lip Worm can mimic any voice you have heard speaking for at least 1 minute with unnerving accuracy, a successful Wisdom (insight) check against your Spell Save DC reveals the voice to be a close imitation.
Signal Fly Swarm: A swarm of bio-luminescent flies come to your aid to illuminate darkness or light up an enemy. On your turn you can use a bonus action to command the Signal Fly Swarm to illuminate the area within 15'' of you with bright light and dim for another 15'', or you can command them to cling to a creature giving the next attack against them Advantage, after the Advantage has been used the flies return to you until their next command.
Your summoned insect stays with you for 10 minutes or until you use your Wild Shape again.
At Higher Levels: When you are an 8th-level druid, you can use a second charge of Wild Shape to keep 2 insects at your side instead of only 1.
Circle Spells
Your mystical connection to insects infuses you with the ability to cast certain spells. At 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th level you gain access to circle spells.
Once you gain access to a circle spell, you always have it prepared, and it doesn’t count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn’t appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.
*Keep in mind that you are an insect spellcaster, so we recommend and an insect flourish to your spells. This will not change how the spell acts/reacts with your environment but adds flavour to your roleplay experience.

- When you take a long rest, your colony watches the surrounding area, you instantly regain consciousness if a creature not pre-recognized enters a radius of 30 feet of you. You can then use an action to wake up any number of creatures in that radius when you are awake
