Base Class: Druid
The Evolution druid focuses on combining low level beasts into creatures that are to be feared. Mantis-bears?! Spider wasps!? Fish...ants?!? Who knows!
Where Circle of the moon focuses on power of forms, Evolution focuses on controlling the forms you shift into.
Evolved Form
When you choose this circle at 2nd Level, you can expend two uses of Wild shape to create a unique beast form, When you do so, you combine the total health of both beasts, and select the highest armour class available between the two. You select the three of the highest ability scores among both creatures, followed by three of the lowest scores among both creatures to carry over into your new beast form. You maintain any additional traits both creatures possess (such as multi-attack, condition/damage resistances/immunity's, movement speed, and sight).
Persistant Form
Starting at 6th level, you can freely shift in and out of your chosen wild-shape at will. Provided you obey any action requirements, you maintain the form of your originally chosen wild-shape for the maximum duration (The number of hours equal to your half your druid level rounded down), regardless of the number of times you shape into and out of that form.
Improved Form
When you reach 10th level, the Challenge rating of your Wild shapes is now determined by your druid level divided by Four rounded down.
Top of the food chain
By 14th level, you select two additional features to add to your wild shape when combining them as part of your evolved form:
Flight speed equal to movement
Climb speed equal to movement
Swim speed equal to movement
Damage Immunity of your choice: Fire, Frost, Lightning Acid, Poison
Condition Immunity of your choice: Paralyses, Fear, Petrifaction, Charm, Restrained.
Misc
This is required because dnd-beyond thinks druids have a 3rd lvl feature, maybe its for the spell slot list, Im not sure.
Incidentally: One feature includes a personal house rule of mine in 'Persistent form": -I've found some players, particularly newer ones can feel nervous about using wild shape if they just-so-happen to be the only healer in the group, and face the choice of casting a spell or losing their wild shape, I felt it made sense to add this as a feature in this subclass to show a different form of Wild-shape mastery that differs from Moon Druid.
I would recommend using it as house rule in general, I've heard some claim it to just increase druids power level, but I've found it helps stop those pesky moments of: "I just turned into a bear and my ally went down, their goes my entire class feature I get a limited supply of".
But hey this already home-brew so if you're reading this and you're not happy with anything here then..I dunno, play by the book?! -Enjoy! (Mantis Bear avatar by me,)

Posted Oct 23, 2023Damage immunity of any type for a extended period of time is frowned upon even if it's at a later level like 14.
I think DND Beyond thinks that about Druids because in the subclass Circle of the Land that is when they gain access to the Circle Spells.
