Druid
Base Class: Druid

Druids who are members of the Circle of Butterflies hail from regions that have strong ties to pollinators and understand their importance to both wildlife and humanoids. These druids seek to protect the creatures that, in turn, fill the world with life and wonder. Their magic brings joy to downcast hearts and the realms they protect are gleaming, fruitful places, where dream and reality blur together.

Cardenolide Toxicity

When you choose this circle at 2nd level, your body becomes toxic with a buildup of cardenolides; which is harmless to you, but any creature that hits you with a bite attack suffers 1d4 poison damage. In addition, you can instantly make a flower blossom, a seed pod open, or a leaf bud bloom; which you can use as a food source. If that food source is poisonous, you are immune to the effects and you are resistant to all other poison damage.

Pollinator Habitat

At 3rd level, you become particularly familiar with one type of natural environment frequented by pollinators and are adept at traveling and surviving in such regions. Choose one type of favored terrain: forest, grassland, mountain, or swamp. When you make an Intelligence or Wisdom check related to your favored terrain, your proficiency bonus is doubled if you are using a skill that you’re proficient in.

  • Difficult terrain doesn’t slow your group’s travel.
  • Your group can’t become lost except by magical means.
  • Even when you are engaged in another activity while traveling (such as foraging, navigating, or tracking), you remain alert to danger.
  • If you are traveling alone, you can move stealthily at a normal pace.
  • When you forage, you find twice as much food as you normally would.
  • While tracking other creatures, you also learn their exact number, their sizes, and how long ago they passed through the area.
Forest terrain

Forest is your favored terrain.

Grassland terrain

Grassland is your favored terrain.

Mountain terrain

Mountains are your favored terrain.

Swamp terrain

Swamp is your favored terrain.

Metamorphosis

At 6th level, you learn to sprout elegantly colored wings as a bonus action or reaction, regardless if you are in a wild shape. If used as a bonus action, you have a flying speed of 20 ft. for 1 minute. If used as a reaction while falling, your descent slows to 60 feet per round until the spell ends. If you land before the spell ends, you take no falling damage and can land on your feet, and the spell ends. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.

In addition, you can cast alter self once per short rest.

Kaleidoscope

At 10th level, you learn to cast flock of familiars as a 2nd level spell, which summons either three butterflies (if the environment is bright light) or three moths (if the environment is dim light or dark). This can be cast once per short rest.

Butterfly Effect

At 14th level, an insignificant act performed by you at the end of a long rest magically alters the outcome of an event around you at some point in the future. As a reaction, after you or a creature you can see within 30 feet of you makes an attack roll, an ability check, or a saving throw, you can force the creature to reroll. You make this decision after you see whether the roll succeeds or fails. The target must use the result of the second roll. You can use this ability twice, and you regain any expended uses when you finish a long rest.
