Base Class: Cleric
The first in a many-part Beloved DMs and Players as subclasses series, the Matt Mercer Cleric Domain is for those kind of heart and big of brain. Allowing players to both deal damage and inspire their allies, this subclass is perfect for your next meta one-shot. **Note: This subclass does not specify domain spells. Domain spells may be selected by the DM (or player, at DM's discretion) from the following schools of magic: abjuration, conjuration, illusion, and transmutation.
Bonus Proficiency
When you choose this domain at 1st level, you gain proficiency with heavy armor and martial weapons.
A Bunch of Nerdy Ass Voice Actors
You learn the Vicious Mockery cantrip if you don't already know it, and it counts as a cleric cantrip for you.
Channel Divinity: How Do You Want to Do This?
When you roll damage for a weapon attack or spell attack, you can use your Channel Divinity to deal maximum damage instead of rolling.
Channel Divinity: Don't Forget to Love Each Other
At 6th level, when a creature within 30 feet of you makes an attack roll, you can use your reaction to grant that creature a +5 bonus to the roll, using your Channel Divinity. You make this choice after you see the roll, but before the DM says whether the attack hits or misses.
Alternatively, the creature may gain a +5 bonus to a Wisdom saving throw.
Divine Strike
At 8th level, you gain the ability to infuse your weapon strikes with divine energy. Once on each of your turns when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can cause the attack to deal an extra 1d8 radiant damage to the target. When you reach 14th level, the extra damage increases to 2d8.
The Lighthouse
At 17th level, your kind heart creates a beacon of protection and unity that helps you aid allies even in the darkest of times. As an action, you can choose up to three allies that you can see within 30 feet of you and guide them toward the light. Each ally gains the following benefits:
- They have advantage on saving throws against being frightened.
- They gain 1d10 temporary hit points.
- They can use their reaction to gain resistance to psychic damage for one round.
