Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Where others may gain their power from gods or powerful beings, your power surges from the Astral plane. Whether exposed to energies from the Astral plane or created by the magics of a dimensional being, your strength is drawn from the planes themselves. Whether this was random chance or purposeful planning, you may never know.

Astral Apperception

When you came into the world, your link to the Ethereal plane was the strongest you retained.

Starting at level 1, you can temporarily peer into the Ethereal plane. When looking into the Ethereal plane, you can see any creatures inhabiting the plane that would normally be imperceptible on the material plane, but you cannot interact with them in any way, and they cannot interact with you. This effect lasts for 1 minute or until you dispel the effect yourself. It cannot be dispelled by anti-magic.

You can use this feature twice before you must finish a long rest to use it again.

Starting at level 8, you can use this feature to cast Scrying without providing any material components, and at level 12 you can cast True Seeing on yourself without providing any material components. These spells can only be cast once per long rest.

Planar Shield

Your connection to the other planes grows stronger within you, giving you the power to move between planes of existence as if you were stepping through a door.

Starting at level 6, you can open a brief portal into the ethereal plane to avoid incoming attacks. Using a reaction, you can roll a dexterity saving throw to avoid an incoming attack. The DC equals your AC. On a failed save, you take half damage. On a successful save, you take no damage.

At level 11, you can spend this reaction to use this protection on any creature within 30ft that you can see, where you roll the same dexterity check against their AC. On a failed save, the damage is halved. On a successful save, the damage is negated.

You can spend 2 sorcery points to use this reaction again before your next turn.

Additionally, you can spend 1 sorcery point to cast Etherealness on yourself once a day.

Protection of the Planes

You have rekindled your ties to the elemental planes, and now their power flows through you, ready to be commanded.

At level 14, you can spend 4 sorcery points to cast Investiture of Flame/Ice/Stone/Wind. These do not count towards your known spells. Additionally, when you cast a spell that deals Cold or Fire damage, you can spend 2 Sorcery points to roll one additional damage die and add it to the overall damage dealt

Psychic Supernova

Unleash the winds of the Astral Plane.

At 18th level, you can use an action to expend 11 sorcery points to create a radial explosion centered on yourself that knocks back and deals damage to everything caught within the blast, including friendlies.

Each creature within a 30ft radius centered on you takes 13d8 force damage and must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be pushed back 20ft. On a successful save, the creature is not pushed back
