Base Class: Ranger

Raised in the savage wilds of the north, Frost Archers are Iceborn, a warrior gifted with a magical connection to their frozen homeland of the Freljord. With constant war between the tribes of the Freljord, the Frost Archers have their origins among the Avarosan tribe under the leadership of the warmother Ashe. A powerful, and the first, Frost Archer fighting to unify the tribes of the Freljord.

 

Volley

 At 3rd level, you are able to fire a volley of 9 arrows in a 30ft cone, each creature must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking full piercing damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases when you reach certain levels in this class, increasing to 3d6 at 10th level, 4d6 at 15th level, and 5d6 at 20th level.

 

Ranger's Focus

At 7th level, you're aim and speed become true, allowing you to release arrows at an increased pace for a short time. When you make a ranged weapon attack with a bow, you may attack up to 5 times on a single target for 12 seconds. If the target creature dies, the Ranger's Focus ability ends. You must have the ammunition for this ability.  You may only use this ability once per short rest. Extra Attack does not increase the number of attacks from Ranger's Focus

Frostshot

At 11th level, you are able to use the harsh frozen elements to your advantage. Using your knowledge of the frozen elements, you are able to spend an hour at a time enchanting 30 preexisting arrows with cold damage, creating Crystal Arrows. Your Crystal Arrows have the ability to restrain creatures when you score a critical hit. Creatures that are resistant or immune to cold damage do not get restrained.

When you score a critical hit on a creature they must succeed a Constitution saving throw (DC {{savedc:wis}}) or become restrained until the end of their next turn.

Enchanted Crystal Arrow

At 15th level, you've mastered your enchanting abilities, you may now spend 6 hours to further enchant one of your already enchanted arrows into a Enchanted Crystal Arrow. This powerful arrow is fired at a slower velocity but makes up for its lack of speed in its size. Instead of an attack roll, the target creature must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking full cold damage on a failed save or half as much on a successful one.

Additionally, the target creature and any creature within 5 ft makes a Constitution saving throw. Each creature that failed the save is stunned until the end of their respective turns. On a successful save, nothing happens.
