Base Class: Bard

The College of Whistles teaches bards to use their mouth as the natural instrument, requiring little use of an instrument to cast their spells or make performances. Bards that enroll in this college of whistles are upbeat and enthralling to their party often seen enjoying life and whistling a tune on the fly.

The big advantage the bard has while Whistling is to focus the sound to ear bursting levels affect their enemies ability to concentrate on what they want to do. Keeping the party upbeat and focused on task, improving the mood and helping the party accomplish things they could not naturally.

Natural Instrument

Starting at level 3, given your practice at whistling you no long need any instrument to act as a Spellcasting focus and gain advantage on concentration checks due to the less complicated way you cast.

High Frequency Whistle

Also at level 3, You focus your whistling into a high frequency sound that disrupts a creatures ability to focus. As a bonus action you can Whistle at a creature and cause it to take 1d6 + Charisma Modifier Force damage, if the target is a spellcaster they must make a Concentration check if they have any concentration spells up. If the target is using a ranged weapon, they must make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC, they have disadvantage on their next ranged attack on a failure.

Master of the Tongue

At level 6, you have practiced the fine art of using your tongue to help produce sound that languages come much more naturally to you. You may choose an extra 3 languages to learn, as long as you have access to someone that speaks that language, these can be picked up at any time after 6th level.

Cheerful Whistle

Also at level 6, your whistles are exceptionally inspiring and make even the most glum fellow feel good about them self. Your bardic inspiration die is improved to a D8 and allies that have an inspiration dice gain advantage on Wisdom saving throws.

Hour of Joy

At level 14, you can help your parties mood which brings the best performances out of them. By performing a fantastic rendition of the most beautiful music the party has ever heard, the bard must whistle for 1 minute to complete the song, giving the party the following benefits for the next hour;

  • With a skip in their step they move faster, improving their speed by 10 ft.
  • They gain advantage on Charisma Checks as they put full effort into any actions.
  • They must put full force into dealing with enemies that might try to dampen the mood, they deal an extra 1d6 damage on every attack or damaging spell
  • They are immune to being Charmed as the song they have heard is filling their mind with such happy thoughts that its hard to be affected.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma Modifier, you must take a long rest to recover your uses. Party members that take a short/long rest during the time Hour of Joy is active lose the effect.
