Base Class: Bard
Sometimes a bard just doesn't have stage presence. They might be quite adept at writing songs or poetry or other creative endeavors. But when it comes to sharing the results with the world, they are just dreadful at it.
This is a bardic college made for the bards who write the songs and stories performed by others. The Ghost Writer is further proficient in observation and has the ability to be personally inspired by the events around them. Charisma-based abilities are sacrificed for the ability to use Wisdom in its place for spellcasting and some skills.
Rotten Fruit Magnet
PREREQUISITE: Your Charisma score can be no higher than 10 and you cannot have proficiency in Performance or Deception.
Observant Creative
When you become a Ghost Writer at 3rd level, you substitute your Wisdom bonus for your Charisma bonus in Intimidation and Persuasion checks. Additionally, Wisdom becomes your spellcasting ability, you gain extra uses of Bardic Inspiration dependent on level, and you are able to use a writing implement as your spellcasting focus.
Situational Valor
Also at 3rd level, you have honed your ability to use what you observe around you as inspiration for your works and deeds. Once per short rest, your can gain a Bardic Inspiration die for yourself, provided that an ally within 60 feet has succeeded on an attack roll against a target hostile to you or succeeded on a skill check of DC 15 or higher. If you are unable to observe the action, due to blindness or lack of line of sight, deafness, or because an action is successfully hidden from you, you are unable to take this Bardic Inspiration die.
Inspired By My Peers
At 6th level, you gain one additional use each of the Bardic Inspiration ability and the Situational Valor ability per short rest. This increases to two additional uses at 14th level.
Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better
Starting at 14th level, when you make an ability check, you can expend one use of Bardic Inspiration or Wisdom Bardic Inspiration to gain inspiration from the actions or deeds of an ally within 60 feet. Roll a Bardic Inspiration die and add the number rolled plus your Wisdom modifier to your ability check, provided that an ally within 60 feet has made a successful attack roll or skill check of DC 15 or higher.

Posted Nov 15, 2018The limits of the D&D Beyond system had to be massaged a little to make this concept work. Originally, the intention was to straight-up sub the WIS mod for CHA mod, but the system would not allow for that. The Prerequisites are a result of this limitation, in order to prevent some skill checks from becoming twice-modified by abilities and thus over-powered.
