Base Class: Monk
"Instead of trying to flank your opponent, why not just control the match?" - A Lonely Lady
The attuned body is nothing without the attuned mind. The Kitsune Monks aim to hone their brains by emulating the Ki of the fox. Sly and Cunning, they seek to dominate the battle not trough power or speed, but by strategy and careful thinking.
Fox Wits
The Way of the Kitsune requires a sharpned mind. When you first commit to this tradition at 3rd level, you gain advantage on WIS (Perception) and INT (Investigation) checks.
Quick Reflexes
Quick reflexes are the mark of the fox. At 3rd level, whenever you make an opportunity attack, you can spend 1 ki point to gain advantage on the attack roll. In addition, Whenever a creature winthin 5 feet of you tries to attack you and fails, you can spend 1 ki point to make an opportunity attack against them as a reaction.
First strike
You have the slyness to act before all else. Once you reach 6th level, you gain advantage on initiative rolls.
Seduction of the Kitsune
Legends speak of Fox spirits who charmed people to rob them. Once you reach 6th level, you can, as an action, spend 1 Ki point to force a creature to make a CHA Saving Throw. If it fails the save, the creature is charmed by you. The charm lasts for up to 10 minutes. If the creature is engaged in combat, it can retry the saving throw on each of its turns.
Ki Reading
When you reach 11th level in this tradition, you learn how to read the opponent's Ki. As an action, you can spend one Ki point to force the opponent to make a CHA Saving throw. On a failure, You can learn one of the following facts about the enemy:
- Current Hit Points
- Armor Class
- Current Availabe Spell Slots (If applicable)
- Strenght Score
- Dexterity Score
- Constitution Score
- Current Available Ki Points (If applicable)
- Creature Type
You can use this feature again on the same creature if you wish to learn a different fact about them.
Cunning Mind
As you advance in this tradition, you learn how to strategically use your Ki. At 17th level, When you fail in using a feature that uses Ki points, the Ki points are not spend.
The following scenarios constitute a failure for this feature:
- When you use your flurry of blows and don't hit with either strike.
- When you use your Patience Defense and are not attacked by the end of your next turn.
- When you use your Stunning strike and the creature succeeds on the saving throw.
The total of Ki points you can save using this feature equals Your Wisdom modifier. Only when you recover Ki points during long rest do you regain all uses of this feature.
Nine Tailed Fox
At 17th level, your emulation of the fox allows you to shape your Ki into the legendary Kyuubi. As an action, you can spend 3 Ki points to summon 9 spectral fox tails arround you. This feature requires concentration, as if concentrating on a spell, and it lasts for up to 10 minutes, and you can deactivate it as a bonus action.
While surrounded by the tails, you can use them to perform one of the following features:
- Empower your Martial Arts strikes, adding a bonus 1d6 force damage to all your damage rolls this turn.
- Use your reaction to impose disadvantage on one attack roll against you.
- Guide your next strike, giving you advantage on one attack roll.
Each time you use one of these features, you dispel one of your nine tails. If the time runs out or you deactivate the feature manually, the next time you activate this feature in the following 24 hours you will only have the number of tails you had left the last time the feature was ended instead. If all nine tails are dispeled, you can't use this effect again until you finish a long rest.
