Base Class: Bard
College of Rebellion Bards do NOT adhere to norms, their music is often raucous and loud versus most other Bards soothing and laid-back melodies.
*formerly known as Bard- College Dropout*
Rebel Yell
At 3rd level when you join this College rather than Inspire someone else you can Inspire yourself as a Bonus Action. When you inspire someone other than yourself, they gain a bonus to their weapon damage equal to half your Charisma modifier (rounded down) so long as they are inspired. If they expend the inspiration die on a weapon attack roll and hit, they deal additional damage equal to your Charisma modifier rather than half.
Bonus Proficiencies
At 3rd level when you join this College, you become proficient in Charisma(Intimidation) checks, martial melee weapons and medium armor.
Discordant
At 3rd level when you join this College, you always have the Bane spell prepared, it doesn't count against the number of spells you can have prepared and its die is equal to your Bardic Inspiration die.
Break the Mold
At 6th level whenever you use Countercharm and a creature succeeds its save, it gains a Bardic Inspiration without you expending one of your uses. Additionally, whenever you cast a spell that deals Thunder or Psychic damage you can roll an extra damage die.
Anarchy Reigns
At 14th level you can give an emboldening speech that rallies those that listen to your cause. In order to use this feature you must have at least 2 uses of your Bardic Inspiration dice available to spend. Using your Action you expend all remaining uses of your Bardic Inspiration, you and up to 10 creatures you choose within 120 feet that can hear you become rallied by your speech, gaining the following benefits for 1 minute:
- The creatures gain temp hp equal to to your Charisma Score times 2
- The creatures can Dash as a Bonus Action
- The creatures can make one extra attack on their turn as part of their Attack action
- The creatures become immune to frighten and charm effects, any creature currently affected by these conditions are immediately cured of them
The benefits end early if you are rendered unconscious or if you are ever out of Initiative. When the effect of Anarchy Reigns ends you gain a Point of Exhaustion.

Posted May 17, 20221) rather than using BI to cast from different spell lists, maybe construct a custom spell list like cleric domains grant. bane, thunderous smite, pyrotechnics and thunder step might be a good start for a metal music based subclass.
2) look at any subclass that has the Bonus Proficiency(ies) feature, you can grant basically any proficiencies you want no problem.
3) changing the path you Walk, yes i did ;), is a little out their but a homebrew subclass that i saw, recently actually on Youtube, called the Lunar Sorcerer did that pretty well but its entire spiel was about changing its "path". Fun aside: the same youtube channel i saw the Lunar Sorc on also covered a Heavy Metal Barbarian so if you wanna diverge from that id start with looking at what that does and maybe coming up with things you'd do different.

Posted May 15, 2022THIS IS AWESOME! im working on an idea that uses BI points to cast spells from other spell lists. kind of like college of lore with more range and its all based on metal music. it also lets you use things like smites and enhance abilities with BI points as well as great weapons proficiencies and so you can smash people in the face with your "axe". you can also change out what "path" you choose to Walk (see what i did there) after a long rest so you can use a different set of spells the next day. does that sound broken? if so, how can i fix that?
sincerely
a fellow rebel
