Path of Gravity Defiance

For a Barbarian, their rage is perhaps their greatest weapon, one that is central to who they are. For some, though, their rage is so potent, so powerful, that it affects not just their strength but also their gravitational field. For one to wield an inner fury so great that it affects gravity is to, naturally, give rise to those who defy gravity itself, using their rage as a catalyst to do so. Those who wield this power formidable, and to face one is to witness gravity bend and bow to the whim of cosmic rage, so that one may crush their enemies.

Wellspring of Defiance

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, the rage within you grants you a wellspring of power that you can use to defy gravity. This wellspring is represented by Gravity Defiance points. You have a number of these points equal to twice your proficiency bonus, and you can spend these points to fuel various effects, some of which are detailed below. You regain all expended Gravity Defiance points when you finish a short or long rest.

The options below use your Gravity Defiance points:

• When you are forced to make a saving throw to resist forced movement or falling prone, you can expend one Gravity Defiance point to automatically succeed on the saving throw.
• When you make a running high jump or running long jump, you can expend one Gravity Defiance point to triple the jump distance. When you do so, you don't need to move in order to make the jump.

If a feature would require your target to make a saving throw to resist the feature's effects, the saving throw DC is calculated as follows:

Defiance DC =  8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus

Blade of the Graviton

Also at 3rd level, your rage allows you to strike with a crushing force, while also rendering your weapon weightless. Whenever you are holding a weapon that has the Heavy or Two-Handed properties, that weapon loses those properties for you.

In addition, once per turn when you hit a creature with a melee attack, you can expend a number of Gravity Defiance points up to your proficiency modifier. When you do so, the target takes an extra 1d8 force damage for each expended Gravity Defiance point, and it must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your Defiance DC or have its speed halved until the end of its next turn. The extra damage increases to 1d10 at 10th level.

Mass Manipulation

Starting at 6th level, your power over gravity grows, granting you new abilities. You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.

In addition, if a creature that you can see within 30 feet of you makes a melee attack, you can use your reaction to expend one Gravity Defiance point and force the creature to make a Strength saving throw against your Defiance DC. On a failed save, you pull the creature up to 15 feet toward you, and the attack misses. If this pull would bring the creature into your reach, you can make a weapon attack against the creature as part of the same reaction. 

Microgravitational Flight

Starting at 10th level, you can willingly alter your gravitational field, granting you swiftness and flight capabilities. While you're raging, your walking speed increases by 10 feet.

In addition, you can expend two Gravity Defiance points as a bonus action to grant yourself a flying speed equal to your walking speed for 1 minute.

Wrath of the Vortex

Starting at 14th level, your rage replenishes your gravity-defying power when you need it most. When you activate your Rage and have no Gravity Defiance points remaining, you regain 4 Gravity Defiance points.
