Bard
Base Class: Bard

Wreathed in mantles of flame, the bards of the College of Fire Dancers put on displays that are equal parts elegant and terrifying; with mesmerizing grace they dance among the roaring flames, constantly at risk of being engulfed and immolated. In battle, they harness these flames into a powerful force, reducing their enemies to cinders while remaining untouched themselves.

Burning Torch

Beginning when you choose this College at 3rd level, you can manifest your penchant for fire in the form of a torch that burns with magical flames. As a bonus action, you can dismiss or summon a Burning Torch to your hand. The torch is a simple melee weapon with the light and thrown properties. It has a normal range of 15 feet and a long range of 30 feet. On a successful hit, it deals fire damage equal to one roll of your Bardic Inspiration die. It uses Charisma for its attack and damage rolls, instead of Strength or Dexterity. If you throw the torch, it reappears in your hand at the beginning of your next turn.

While summoned, the torch emits bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light for an additional 20 feet. The torch ignites flammable objects it comes into contact with, provided they aren’t being worn or carried.

Pyrotechnics

Also at 3rd level, you’ve learnt how to wield fiery magic as part of your performances. You learn the Control Flames and Produce Flame cantrips, as well as the Burning Hands spell. These spells count as bard spells for you, and do not count against your total number of spells known.

Dance of Flames

At 6th level, you can dance through fire and flame with a mesmerizing grace. You gain resistance to fire damage, and when you use your action to deal fire damage to a creature, you can use your bonus action to move up to 10 feet in a direction of your choice. This movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity and you can move through a hostile creature’s space without suffering any penalties to your movement.

At 10th level, you can move an extra 5 feet.

Carnival of Cinders

At 14th level, you can turn the battlefield into a stage for your fiery performances. As an action, you can expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration feature to create a 60-foot-radius sphere of fiery magic, centered on you. The ground inside the sphere counts as difficult terrain to creatures of your choice, and while you’re inside the sphere, you can add your Charisma modifier to the fire damage you deal with spells.

The area is surrounded by walls of fire, and any creature that moves into the area or attempts to move out of it must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, it takes fire damage equal to three rolls of your Bardic Inspiration die, taking half damage on a success.

Additionally, as part of the action you use to create your Carnival of Cinders, and on subsequent turns as an action, you can designate four 5-foot-squares within the sphere. Any creatures that occupy those spaces must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, it takes fire damage equal to three rolls of your Bardic Inspiration die, as 60-foot-tall columns of fire erupt within those spaces. On a successful save, a creature takes half damage.

Your Carnival of Cinders lasts for 10 minutes, until you are killed, or until you choose to end it as an action.

You can use this feature once per long rest.
