Just wondering, has their been any news on the addition of a wild shape section to the character sheet, I know it has been talked about but haven't heard anything since Phase 2 & 3 we're launched.
I have a few suggestions to add to it if you haven't thought of them already. A separate health tracker for the creature that carries over damage when you drop to 0 HP in beast form.
Have all relevant information merged, like CHA, WIS and INT as well as proficiencys merged and recalculated around the changed stat's
A way to select items that you are continuing to wear in wild shape and those that merge with the form so those item bonuses can also carry over. For example I have some homebrew armour from my DM that changes shape when I wild shape that adds CON to the Beast's AC. I would love a way for that to auto calculate.
Not sure if this is the way that everyone plays wild shape but it does say class and race features carry over if the new form is capable. So my character has both Mobile and Resilient CON so a way for those features to be carried over the the beast too such as a +10ft to movement and +1 to CON.
I know some of these features may not be the easiest to add but they would make an amazing character sheet for druids if it was.
I just noticed that it says, "Once per Dawn" under "Arcane Recovery" on the Character Sheet for a Wizard.
The once per dawn mechanic is for magical items and has nothing to do with Arcane Recovery. Although Arcane Recovery should reset after a long rest and you can only benefit from one long rest per 24 hours, dawn has no bearing on that mechanic at all and it is, in fact, misleading to use that label for anything other than a magical item where it specifically mentions that as a feature.

I find the equipment selection menus needs a lot of work it takes forever to scroll through and it's not obvious what has been selected. There should be a sidebar with the items such you've selected displayed, also there should be a menu from witch to select from groups of items.

During the beta test of D&D Beyond, we'll only be including content that is freely available from Wizards of the Coast, including the D&D 5th edition SRD , D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, Elemental Evil Companion and potentially others. The beta will not include additional content from a Commercially Released Book, Module or Supplement.
All of the remaining published content from the PHB, DMG, MM and other D&D 5th edition books will be added to D&D Beyond for product release - the cost for accessing this material has just been announced.
There seems to be no option for a Drow elf yet, even though it is in the Player's Handbook. Hope this can be added easily.

The past few days I made a few higher level characters, and really started looking at the interface with an eye toward using it at the table. The high level characters highlighted some concerns I hadn't noticed at lower levels. I have a few things for the dev team to consider:
I think there needs to be a way to hide or re-order race and class features. If I need to lookup the details on a fighting style or a subclass feature that isn't a limited use, I have to scroll past hits points, proficiencies and ability score improvements, or for a racial ability age, alignment guidelines, etc. ... things I never need to see in play. Perhaps adding a customizable box, where one can select which features and traits form their class, race or background to include.
I would also like to see the ability to edit the write ups for race and class features. The descriptions are somewhat wordy, which is fine for character creation, but in play, I may want to delete the sentence about what level an ability was earned, or the flavor text to focus on the what I need to know most.
I also think we should have the ability to customize where the boxes appear on the screen. For me Description and Notes belong at the bottom, with Spells and Limited Use closer to the top. I believe there was mention that the exported character sheet may have some customization, but I imagine most at my table using DDB on their tablets or phones, so that interface matters at least as much.
I'm primarily a DM, so I'll also suggest that perhaps a "character sheet" that looks more like a monster listing would be useful. I sometimes want to know what a character's AC, or saves, or languages, or prepared spells are, but I don't really need to reference a full character sheet.

I agree with all this, but I think it's less about customisation and more about changing what is displayed by default. The sheet should be useful primarily in-game with quick access to features etc.
I just made my first character in the creator and I noticed a couple of things.
The reported damage for my Unarmed Strike is incorrect.Reported damage is 2, though is should be 3 = 1 + Str. mod 2.
My Hill Dwarf lvl. 2 Fighter has Heavy Armor equipped, which gives disadvantage on stealth checks. I can not see this reported anywhere.
I'd like to be able to create custom items through the equipment menu, even a minimal creator would be okay in that case. My character has some mundane items, that only need a name, that I'd like to create quickly instead of going through the magic item creator for each item.

+1 to this bit. I definitely would like to see a DM "cheat sheet" listed more like a stat block for quick reference of the important highlights.

Also a party cheat sheet. The basics for a set of characters, on one page if possible. Let me check everyone's passives, languages, etc efficiently.
As of the latest update (7/31/2017) The character builder equipment adding section added in filtering of the gear you are adding which is excellent, i can get common weapons, however there is no designation between what is a simple and what is a martial weapon, I still have to consult my book on that (none of the tooltips seem to show that in this section, and searching for martial or simple here returns no results).
Also, I know space is limited in mobile view, but on desktop view of the equipment manager when creating a new character, can we get the "starting equipment" in a text box on the same window as the screen where you add it, or an option to "add starting equipment" where it goes through a workflow of you choosing a or b (or c) based on what the starting equipment is? (i.e. have a button that says "add default starting equipment" that when clicked prompts you through the options, so for a paladin you would see two options, martial weapon and shield/two martial weapons, then you choose your weapons, then five javelins or any simple melee weapon, etc.)
I find the equipment selection menus needs a lot of work it takes forever to scroll through and it's not obvious what has been selected. There should be a sidebar with the items such you've selected displayed, also there should be a menu from witch to select from groups of items.
I believe it has been stated that this is what the devs are currently working on. A lot of people, myself included, have the same feedback and they have been very responsive.

I would love to see a tongue-in-cheek count someday for the number of times this response or something similar to it has been posted. :)

I'd like to +1 all of theses ideas as well, they are awesome. If this could also be worked into the encounter builder so that a DM could see a top le so at-a-glance view of everyone involved, that would be incredible.

I would love a quick and easy say to consume/use one-use items like potions. But of a drag having to go through "manage equipment" to use a potion.
Keep up the great work! Can't wait for release.

How do you get a one-armed goblin out of a tree?
Wave!

Creating a random character should include basic equipment as well. Will be a good resource for quick one offs and NPCs.
I assume the request has been made to allow a magical staff (like a staff of power) to be equipped as a weapon?
