I like the concept for the List View, but I think it would make sense to have each list under Sourcebooks and Adventures be sorted by the release date of the content.
No, no, PLEASE no. It's essentially like this now and it makes it harder to find anything unless you happen to know roughly when it came out in the release sequence. This lists need to be alpha sorted, or at least have a toggle to do so.
I hadn't had a chance to poke around the new homebrew layout (and I admit I'm not a power user), but I miss the 'create a...' dropdown option - it doesn't really make sense to me to have browse and create homebrew together on the same page, but if you're going to do that, having that shortcut dropdown back with the view buttons in the upper right would be helpful - it's much quicker than scrolling and clicking for the bottom few options, and I expect this list will only get longer.
I think the Adventures in the Source section should be ordered by their appearance in the Faerun timeline, so Thunder would precede Hoard, and that and Tiamat would come before Tomb which would come before Dragon Heist.
No, I'm just kidding. Really.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. Here's my D&D stuff. I love it so.
Yeah, the current mega menu, even though it looks pretty, is rather difficult to navigate.
I would advise to give users the right to change their own menu.
For example the source books. Give people the option to only show the books that they need to see. or possibly to switch back to the old menu.
----------------------------------
To conclude I just wish, I truly hope, there is gonna be some real changes soon. I am waiting for so many great things: Encounter builder, mobile app character sheet, better possibility DM campaign management, and hopefully interactive battlemats to name a few.
The list view will be a great improvement. I wanted to put my 2 cents in. This is a resource site. In my opinion, any information you need to get to should be presented in the easiest to navigate, most straight forward way possible so I (we) can get to any information we need as quickly and easily as possible. I understand wanting to make the site look good but for me, I don't need the graphics, or the space it's eats up in load time or menu size. I want to use this as a resource where navigation and speed should be paramount. I really hope this site doesn't start to lean more towards the entertainment side and eat up space with flashy stuff.
I definitely think I'd prefer something closer to a List View(honestly, I thought the old menu system was just fine, honestly). Turning the drop-down menu into a big fat ribbon just doesn't appeal to me. It feels like one of those ads you see on webpages that start out as just a modest square in the corner, but once your mouse pointer goes over it the ad takes up a quarter of your browser window.

He's got an excellent point. I get the desire to make the site visually attractive, I do. And I do like the overall aesthetic, like being able to tweak the colors & background on my character sheets, etc. But for many folks, this site is a resource & utility as much as it is an entertainment site. Oversized menu options and whatnot just get in the way. What about a toggle switch in our account profiles? Set one way, we get menus like the ones you just deployed. Set the other way, we get something more utilitarian, like what used to be there. I get that maintaining to UI's means more work, but this site aims to serve a pretty broad and diverse audience. Giving that audience some options could be a very good thing.
I appreciate the feedback in this thread, but I do encourage everyone to hang in there a few more days to see the next iteration with the list view incorporated before focusing too much on what is currently live.
I honestly can’t believe how many people are complaining about an extra click here and there and having to scroll through pages...talk about 1st world problems, people! I’m just wondering what everyone is going to do with all the time they save with removing a click?? Let me know so I can fulfill that part of my life as well, I guess I just don’t know what all I’m missing out on by an extra 3 seconds! The possibilities are ENDLESS!!! MAYBE, just maybe you will be able to take all that extra time and find something that’s actually worth complaining about! That’s my hope for humanity at least! Complain on!
Hehe, well, a lot can happen in 3 seconds. Seeing as a round is 6 seconds that's half the battle. So I'm missing half the actions of my party in those 3 seconds :)
Sorry, couldn't resist. Now I will shut up and wait for the next iteration.
Thank you BadEye! Like I said earlier, I can see the second level menu will satisfy most of the requests! All of you are doing a great job and I'm very much looking forward to continued development of the site! If this site didn't exist I wouldn't even have a place to have my input heard about the menus or anything else! I've come to rely on DNDBeyond as my go to resource for my PbP games and as a companion to my IRL games! Thank you!
The emphasis on visual appeal over functionality is exceptionally painful. It's not a magazine/book, it's an application. Information density is not a bad thing when it is useful, the grid view will help but that pattern doesn't work as well unless it shows up as a sub-nav for races and classes especially.
Having sub-navigation for quick access to class/race/etc. was exceptionally useful. The ability to access that content from the navigation should return without having to navigate to a new page impacts the user experience significantly as you're loading a new page, then navigating within a page to find that content and then loading another page (data heavy, interaction heavy).
Small suggestion: can "Creations" be changed to "My D&D Beyond", or something similar? since most of the items within are My Characters, My Campaign, My Homebrew.

I'm not sure if you saw, but revisions are starting to be rolled out today that address much of this. Additionally, no one has said that we value visual appeal over functionality - we have simply said that we do value visual appeal (as do many of the fans in the community).
That looks great! Grid/multiple columns seems like the best choice.
I realize that hiding the content one hasn't bought might not be something the company want, since you're in the buissness of selling content. But maybe change the color of the compendiums that's not purchased? Dim the titles a bit? Could maybe drive more purchases, like you want to "collect" all titles :-)
It's more likely that we would allow you to "star" or "pin" what you want to see to the top of the list in the future.
We'll continue to iterate and improve over time - thanks!
I was about to suggest this very thing - there are about 5-6 source books that I make use of at any one time, so pinning them would be very cool!
I dislike having to go to a page to select a class and having to filter spells to a class after getting to the spells screen. I do like that its a slide down menu instead of a follow the mouse menu but if the big class buttons and spell buttons were changed to headers where I could select the class or all spells instead of loading another page to click the link that takes me where I want to go.... that would be better.

The lack of inflection in text means that a reader of any post adds their own inflection as they "verbalize" it in their head. I write long and repetitive in an effort to be clear and avoid my intent from being skewed or inverted. I am also bad at examples. It is common for people to skim my posts pull out the idea they think I mean or want to argue against or focus on my bad example instead of the point I am actually trying to make. I apologies for the confusion my failure to be clear and concise creates.
I'm gonna be honest, for the sources tab/pop-up, I feel that there needs to be some sort of way to tell if you own it or not before clicking it. Doesn't need to be that extravagant, grey or red text or something of the like should do. Otherwise I'm liking the updates.

This looks promising!
Have you considered doing a 'Beta' testing program where people can opt in to test the new features and maybe A/B test a few things?
I think it could help mitigate the mass panic that seems to happen every time a text box changes size.

Campaign links for Game Log access because DDB has abandoned the forum dice roller, apparently.
Radiant Citadel by cbaer8 ~•~ Stormwreck Isle by Rforrest14 ~•~ Wildspace by Rhanloi ~•~ Rise of Tiamat by SteveThaiBinh ~•~ The Long Road currently by me
That looks so much better. Yes please to list view!
Which menus will be getting list view? I am hoping at least Sources and Game Rules (for quick dive to a specific adventure, race, or class)

So, what's up with the new page layout?
It seems like D&D Beyond just went backwards in organization.
I'll figure it out.
Just wondering why you fixed something that wasn't broken.
Thanks!
