Apologies if this is the wrong place to raise this, but looking through the wishlist I did not see a function to be notified of changes made by a PC.
I am sure such things dont go on in the real world, but I have heard it said that some folks might be tempted to subtly upgrade their character from time to time.
To help control this, the DM should be notified of changes made to a character registered in a campaign.
I second this, not because I don't trust my players, but because I'd like to know what changes they make when leveling up, and a changelog would help greatly.

A feature I would like to see is being able to add items to inventory that are not in the database. Many items I have are not showing up so I have to write them down on another piece of paper. This tool is supposed to help me avoid needing to do that so either notes field or some other way to do item management of odd items we come across in the game.

There is a notes field already in the character sheet.
Is there a way to add a I created DMPC to a campaign? Or is that one of the adjustments coming when the copy/transfer update goes live?
For the record, it's not actually a DMPC. My friend is switching off and acting as DM this time around, so I want to put my character in, but it's all under my account.

No I mean being able to add odd items into my inventory list which is how I keep track of everything. Like we found this magic human skull. I want o add that to my inventory list or yeti skins that we got

Just make a homebrew item and add it then? Even though you can't technically make mundane items, you can always just tag it as common and add it.

It was mentioned here that a view-only setting for others in the campaign to see character sheets was in the works. I've searched a bit but have not found any other updates. That post indicates "in the near future" are there any updates? My group keeps asking for it.
Also, the ability to assign the DM role to someone other than the campaign creator/owner would be great.
I would love a bookmark / recently viewed pages, sections menu on the main menu. This way I wouldn't have to return to the main page to access the adventure chapter when navigating away from it for a monster for example.
Also a previous / next chapter would be great in books.
Ability to make separate encounters within your campaign. Encounters complete with monsters, treasure, traps, etc. That the DM can see and then relate to the players. That the DM can plug the characters into and set initiative order. (Like Game Master 5)
I'd like to give some feedback from a perspective that is, by definition, always going to be underrepresented in these discussions and polls...
I've never played DnD before and pretty new to tabletop RPGs in general, but have been trying to start DMing a game with some similarly inexperienced friends. I discovered D&D Beyond 2 months ago, and it's been an incredibly useful tool for me to figure out what I'm doing (useful enough to convince me to buy the DMG and an adventure). The character creator seemed great bc before we got together, everyone could spend as much (or as little) time as they wanted building their characters, and I'd be able to see them in advance and prepare accordingly. That way we might be able to actually start playing the game, not spend another night going over everyone's character sheets...
Unfortunately, that hasn't really happened, in large part because the process of creating and adding a character to a campaign is so unintuitive and user-unfriendly. I was getting increasingly frustrated that even after they'd all clicked the invite link, created accounts, and built characters, only my wife had joined the campaign. Started questioning whether our friends might be idiots, when one finally joined but said it was very confusing, and another told me "ok, sorry, I guess I did it wrong, now I've joined" but hadn't. Then my wife decided to reroll, so she created another character, but when the time came to add the new one, it took the two of us several minutes, working together, to figure out how it actually works. And even longer for me to notice that I couldn't even add my own characters to my campaign without using the freaking invite url.
Having one unintuitive thing in your overall-fantastic UX wouldn't be that bad, IMO, if the UI and documentation made the process abundantly clear to the user. Instead, everything about the workflow from the first click of the URL to the end of character creation suggests a single, linear process, which you could reasonably assume began with the step of joining the campaign, because the directions you see when you click the invite say "____ has invited you to join ____. Please select the character you want to join with below, or" CREATE A CHARACTER
Sorry if this sounds ranty, I understand verrrry well how these types of weirdly-implemented older pieces of a pipeline can end up sticking around long after most of it has been updated and cleaned up etc. And because it's only really a potentially dealbreaking issue for brand-new users, it's not likely to register as more than a minor annoyance to anyone who's reading or posting on these threads.
Just wanted to put that out there, because this site seems to be getting better and better every week, and it's a bummer that new users have to clear such a high DC in order to use it >_>
I've come across what Spameroo said when inviting new players from a Roll20 campaign to create their characters on DnDBeyond. At least 4/9 players had trouble joining the campaign due to unclear workflows.

We appreciate the feedback - several changes to how characters can join campaigns are in the works that should address the issues you mention.
So correct me if this is already out there, but I would like the ability to build characters for campaigns and then distribute them to people or load them into the campaign for people to pick from.
My group tends to do a one shots occasionally and I am used to building the characters for them so as too keep things simple, fast paced, and themed (when necessary).

Hi Guys,
We need Campaign specific forums or session log implemented like, now. Was really surprised this wasn't already in place.
For wish listing:
The ability to make custom classes.
Ability to make separate encounters within your campaign. Encounters complete with monsters, treasure, traps, etc. That the DM can see and then relate to the players. That the DM can plug the characters into and set initiative order. (Like Game Master 5)
