I'm a complete novice when it comes to D&D. I've joined some friends, recently, and learned more about the experience and I love it. I've decided to take a stab at being a DM and creating my own campaign.
Completely lost, befuddled and over my head - I've stumbled onto this amazing resource. Your team is doing incredible, valuable work. I appreciate it, and find it to be extremely helpful, so thank you.
What bothers me is that they tried so hard to perfect it before they were due. they kept saying "this month" aka June. WELL, JUNE IS JUST ABOUT OVER, and a big majority of the playtesters are restless and even upset that it has taken this long to try this thing. >_< (myself included) depending on their timezone, they might have less than 24 hours to meet their deadline. from the way they spoke of it, and of their designs for it, it seemed fair to assume it was generally ready. if something went wrong in the process, like they were concerned it might, to the point where the deadline needs to be extended, why are they waiting until the very last minute to tell us?
from my perspective, I'm planning to play and run a new adventure with some friends, whom I finally convinced to try 5e. it would be very disappointing if I can't even flaunt the awesome character builder. as I always speak highly of D&DB to my friends. we usually use myth-weavers, which as you might know is a poor medium for 5e sheets.
We're counting on our good mates at Curse to launch when they can. If they must extend it then so be it, but I ask them please not to wait any more than absolutely necessary. the anticipation is killing everyone!
I'll go on and clear this up a bit, because you got my attention with using all capital letters.
We have targeted since announcement to release the second phase in June. We got more specific by the time May rolled around and we targeted the 28th of June.
Yesterday was the 28th. Unfortunately, due to the way software development works, we missed it by a day.
Sorry that happened! But I assure you, we are not holding on to this any longer than we need to.

Check out DM Tips over on Geek and Sundry's youtube channel. Some great stuff for new DM's there. A recent one with Satine Phoenix and Talisen Jaffe has some great hints for giving NPC's some personality.

How do you wait 5 full minutes?

I've been refreshing every 30 seconds it feels like. Your self control is saintly to wait 5 min between.

I actually wrote a script to do it automatically every 5 minutes before I realized that I was being a bit excessive and stopped myself. :)

I would rather have the delay than have a roll-out that falls flat on its face.
The chipmunks have gotten into the gears again. Standby as we shoo them away.

I'm in a game in under an hour. If, for instance, it happened to release now, I could test it in-game? ;)
Welcome to the party! It's a very nice place! :)
Plus, you have good timing. Aaaaaany time now.
