Devious serpent folk devoid of compassion, yuan-ti manipulate other creatures by arousing their doubts, evoking their fears, and elevating and crushing their hopes. From remote temples in jungles, swamps, and deserts, the yuan-ti plot to supplant and dominate all other races and to make themselves gods.
After a moment, "Wait - one of the cards that Madam Eva showed us, she said 'He dwells with the one whose blood sealed his doom, a brother of light snuffed out too soon.' She must be referring to Sergei - his brother. That is where we will find Strahd."
Then, with a slight tremble, "I don't think I - nor we - are ready to face him."
"So...we have to find the brother of light first?" Emre sounds confused.
"I don't know about any of this. Didn't the old fortune teller say that everyone who followed her advice ended up dead?" Emre shakes her head. "I say we find our own path out of this mess."
Closing the book, Valanthe points to the cover, "Look - more ravens."
She gently pushes it towards the middle table and tells Byllemura, "I'm sure you want to study it some more - keep it safe until I return."
Valanthe rises and walks out of the room, turning back and saying, "I'll take the first watch guarding Ireena - I'm not very tired anymore." She closes the door behind her as she walks out to the hall.
Byllemura grabs the tome and flips directly to the two readable pages. She starts reading the journal entry again and again, mumbling words from time to time: "Sun against him... Stake through the heart... Sergei's sword..."
She then closes the precious book holding it tight against her chest, and exits into the hall, looking for Valanthe (// OOC: assuming Val is there): "Val... I went through the pages and I cannot sleep just yet... Do you mind us talking a bit?"
--- The hall gives a clear view of the tavern below. All the people in the inn have gone. But the washing of dishes can be heard coming from where Valanthe guesses the kitchen to be.
Note: In case you'd like to situate yourselves differently, there are two rooms that have two beds each plus the four-bed room.
Turning towards Byllemura's voice, Valanthe turns towards her and sees her holding the book, out in the open, she narrows her eyes and says between gritted teeth, "Put that away - I said keep it safe, not run around with it. Bunk up with, Erme - we'll talk in the morning - in private."
// Cause I feel like rolling something... lol ... Intimidation 22 //
// edited - stated "Byllemura" was standing in the hall by Ireena's door, when I meant to say "Valanthe"... //
"Fine! We'll talk tomorrow!" says Byllemura as she turns around, passes the door, puts her left hand up in the air and has the door slam shut behind her (casting Thaumaturgy). She then stows the book away in her backpack and goes to sleep.
After being awoken by Valanthe, and having a moment of bleary eyed confusion, Sylciss takes the opportunity to slap Thpas about the face, and then to hook the Aasimar by the nostrils.
When she wakes up in the morning, Valanthe sits on the floor, cross-legged, sitting on her feet, as if meditating, and begins to softly sing a song, the words, elvish, but if language could be dark, then so was this; a song beseeching her goddess for guidance, hoping to hear her goddess's melodic voice in return.
Emre wakes in a cold sweat for her turn at watch. She spends the entire shift huddled in a blanket, shivering despite the warmth of the inn. She avoids Thpas' eyes when he wakes her, and doesn't speak readily to anyone when morning finally breaks.
Byllemura is clearly gloomy when the morning comes. "Guys, I had another of those dreams last night, where I kill one of you and then set the whole inn ablaze with my powers." she says shaking a bit "I have the feeling evil forces are toying with us here."
"I've had plenty of time to think about what we've found so far, alone" she continues putting a strong emphasis on the last word, turning her gaze towards Valanthe. "Val, I believe you are right. I think Madam Eva's readings and what is written in the journal entry are linked somehow. The latter speaks of Sergei's sword that Strahd hates as much as the sun. The fortune teller spoke of a sword of sunlight that could be retrieved in a dragon's house." Speaking quickly and visibly excited: "The book gives us clues on how to defeat the devil: sunlight, stakes through the heart that may immobilize him, artifacts of great power. Do you remember anything else Madam Eva told us? We need preparation and more information yet but I think we can make it. Free this land of Strahd!"
The tavern is quiet this morning. The innkeepers wife is serving breakfast to Rictavio. Urwin is in the kitchen. The two boys are no where to be seen (perhaps they are not awake yet). The stuffed wolf heads on the wall stare at you with lifeless eyes. Outside, it has stopped raining and a thick fog clings to the air. Rictavio walks over to Urwin and says, "Could I have a raw steak and an apple?" Urwin rolls his eyes and gives Rictavio the items.

"Umm...o- okay," says Emre, giving a quizzical look at the development.

After a few hours, Valanthe returns to the shared room and taps [whoever is taking the next watch]'s shoulder, saying, "You're up."
Valanthe then settles in for an evening's rest.

"Ouch, yes, alright...ow! I'm up!"
Thpas takes over watch outside of Ireena's door.
