Valanthe arches an eyebrow. "Do not make it seem that you worked on this alone just because you chose to obsess over it after the FOUR of us poured over the book for well over an hour. If we are to defeat this evil we are doing it together - the minute any one of us puts her or himself above the others THAT is when we fall. AND last night is the SECOND time you run out into the open with that blasted tome. Strahd has eyes and ears everywhere - if you can't be trusted to keep it secret - to keep it safe - then you shouldn't carry it. Give it over to Erme or Thpas."
After a breath, and with a smile, "With that said, you made good insights. In our conversation with Urwin last night we learned that there was a dragon cult in the mountains, and we might have some leads on an ally regarding a young man of wealth surrounded by the deranged - perhaps even in this town, and Urwin even mentioned a witch with ruins and scarecrows. We have choices ahead of us. But right now - I'd settle for breakfast."
"Raw food diet?" Emre asks Rictavio, pulling up the seat next to his.
Valanthe asks, with genuineness to her voice, "Is that what bards eat? Does it make people perform better? Perhaps I should do the same. I feel... off."
"Raw food diet?" Emre asks Rictavio, pulling up the seat next to his.
"Of course not." says Rictavio, "Its for my friend, the toymaker. He is rather lonely and prefers his food cooked in his own home." as he says this, he wraps the steak in butcher paper.
Devious serpent folk devoid of compassion, yuan-ti manipulate other creatures by arousing their doubts, evoking their fears, and elevating and crushing their hopes. From remote temples in jungles, swamps, and deserts, the yuan-ti plot to supplant and dominate all other races and to make themselves gods.
Byllemura, still in the room, her eyes flaring in anger, points her trembling left finger towards the common room and starts whispering: "You don't understand, do you? Don't you dare talk to me like this morning, ever..." (unknowingly casting Message in Valanthe's direction) then slowly walks down the stairs to join the group, without a word, avoiding anyone's gaze.
When Byllemura joins the party at breakfast, Valanthe says cooly, without looking up, "You don't take criticism too well, do you? What you told me earlier stopped just short of a threat - which is good. I was raised to never threaten anyone unless you meant to go through with it. I am sorry that your feelings are hurt, but that doesn't change the facts regarding the - item."
"Now, we have people to save and a vampire to... eventually... destroy. So, everyone, let's eat up."
Byllemura quickly finishes her breakfast lips sealed shut. Then darts towards the room, packs her belongings, except for the tome that she carefully hides in Valanthe's stuff, and finally walks back downstairs, ready to go. As she approaches, she tells Valanthe: "The - item - is with your belongings. Do whatever you feel is needed with it."
Thpas sees the expression of malcontent and concern in Byllemura. He extends his arm, placing his hand on her shoulder.
"I know this may not be as comforting as I hope it to be, but please know that none of us blame you for your visions. I can only speak for myself, but I trust that you are looking out for all of our group when you share these experiences. The others will have their own ways of showing it. I believe that in these dark times of trickery and deceit, that honesty amongst ourselves can guide us to the right path."
He smiles and laughs. "Chin up, cheer up. We have a brand new day ahead of us!" He watches the others as he finishes his breakfast.
"Yes! That's the name! Gadof Blinsky. He owns a toy shop in town." says Rictavio, chuckling.

"Well then, I wouldn't mind meeting him. Actually, Rictavio, we were also hoping to get an audience with the burgomaster's son - you wouldn't happen to have any recommendations on how to go about this, would you?"
Rictavio looks puzzled, twisting his oddly shaped ring. "Hmmm... I'm not sure about that. The I've never seen his son. Even at those mad festivals that the burgomaster makes everyone show up for. If you wanted to see him, I bet he's at home."

In a quick aside to Erme, "Perhaps we should ask the innkeeper and his family if they know anything about the burgomaster's son - more and more i think he may be the ally Madam Eva mentioned - trapped in wealth and madness."
Then turning back to Rictavio, Valanthe continues, "At the verv least, could we visit the toy maker with you?"
Before he responds, "Actually, hold that thought."
Valanthe runs upstairs to gather the gear she uncharacteristically left there (she almost always keeps her gear and supplies on her at all times), as well as the Tome, and promptly returns downstairs.
Slightly out of breath, "Sorry about that - forgot something. You were saying?"
Rictavio looks nervous and stammers, "I-I'd rather you not. I prefer I--I mean--you--didn't follow--come with me." with that he takes the steak and apple and walks out the door as if in a hurry.

Valanthe calls out to Urwin, "I'll have what he - oh, umm - never mind. I'll have some - I don't Urwin, whatever you suggest."
"A toy maker? Is his name... umm.. Erme - what was the name of the toy maker from Gertrudes doll? Which reminds me - we still have to find that girl."

Looking around the tavern, Valanthe coughs, and says, "I'm sorry about that." Giving a slight, awkward chuckle.
