I'm making a homebrew subclass right now, and I want one of their features to be that they use their strength mod for intimidation checks instead of their charisma mod. I doubt this is possible, but if it is, please teach me how.
You would list it in plain text and the player would customize the Intimidation skill directly on their character sheet to calculate using Str instead of Cha. Down at the very bottom of the list of skills on their character sheet it says “SKILLS ⚙️” with a little grey cogwheel symbol next to it just like that. They would simply click/tap on the cogwheel:
That will cause the sidebar to slide out displaying the list of skills. If they then click/tap on the Intimidation skill the sidebar will change what it displays and they can customize that selected skill to use a different ability score, choose a different level of proficiency, include static numerical non-uses from various sources, or display a little note for that skill to remind them of stuff like dice bonuses or whatever. It’s very cool.
As cool as that is….
I don’t know how relevant this is gonna be in the case of your intended homebrew’s overall design since I haven’t read it, but why not instead give them a straight up bonus to intimidation checks equal to their Str modifier? That way it would use both Str and Cha in its calculation and act almost sortakindabutnotreally like a pseudo-expertise in Intimidation. And as an added benefit, you could program that to automatically calculate that way for the player directly into your subclass instead of having to rely on them making any manual adjustments for themselves. Just a thought. If you do decide to go this rout, all you would need to do is add the following Modifier to your subclass feature:
