We are excited to announce that two more books from the D&D catalog—Ghosts of Saltmarsh and Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus—have been added to Maps and can be accessed today by Master-tier subscribers.
If you don't already own these books, now is the perfect time to pick them up!
Get Access to Maps
Users with a Master-tier subscription can use Maps to import maps and tokens from books they own on D&D Beyond. They can then invite their players to join in on the fun, even if they don't have a subscription!
Ghosts of Saltmarsh
Set in the coastal region of Saltmarsh in the Greyhawk setting, Ghosts of Saltmarsh features seven classic nautical adventures from past editions of Dungeons & Dragons. These adventures can be played individually as one-shots or linked together to form a campaign that will take a party from 1st to 12th level. Low-level parties can experience the haunting horror of The Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh and Danger at Dunwater, while higher-level groups can face off against Tammerut's Fate and The Styes.
In addition to the seven adventures, Ghosts of Saltmarsh features four backgrounds and 55 monsters perfect for naval campaigns, as well as an entire appendix on ships and sea-based combat. You'll find stat blocks and maps for six different ships of various sizes and rules for crews, weapons, and ship upgrades. Finally, the appendix has random encounters at sea, mysterious ships and islands, and underwater locations. Plenty to help a Dungeon Master get their feet wet with nautical adventures.
Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus
Let's plane shift from the seas of Greyhawk to the scorched battlefield of the Nine Hells. Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus is an adventure that takes characters from 1st to 13th level and beyond while they explore the first layer of the Nine Hells, the eternal battlefield of Avernus. Throughout this adventure, players can encounter 37 new hellish monsters, 12 fiendish magic items, and special Baldur's Gate versions of existing backgrounds.
As harsh as the burning dust of Avernus can be, that doesn't mean players can't travel in style. Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus introduces a new type of vehicle: infernal war machines. These vicious vehicular contraptions are bristling with devilishly destructive devices, from the freewheeling Devil's Ride to the gargantuan Demon Grinder! These contraptions of death and destruction can be upgraded with various infernal devices such as an Acidic Bile Sprayer or Soul Spike Armor!
Get Adventuring With Maps
Once you have these books in your library, they'll be usable straight away in Maps, so you can dive into the Azure Sea or descend into the Nine Hells with maps and tokens at the ready. Prep less and play more!
Davyd is a moderator for D&D Beyond. A Dungeon Master of over fifteen years, he enjoys Marvel movies, writing, and of course running D&D for his friends and family, including his daughter Willow (well, one day). The three of them live with their two cats Asker and Khatleesi in south of England.
Awesome!
Very Pog
Can we please get a list of what’s being worked on so we can anticipate what we can/cannot run via Maps? We were originally told you were starting with the new stuff and working backwards, but then you started just jumping around.
Count me as one happy camper!
It wasn't ever stated that maps would be added in specific reverse release order, just that the library of existing maps would be backfilled over time
I want to play it
If you have the compendium for the book, which includes characters, items, spells, etc, purchase the complete book. Below are the links I have added for your convenience.

You can download the map and then upload the map super easy with the maps tool. I'm doing the Tortle package with a campaign, currently in the Typhoon Palace. It's not 'available' but you can just upload it and all the tokens are available.
Tyranny of Dragons next?

How soon for Spelljammer as well?
Thank you, such a nice quality of life improvement!
