Base Class: Warlock
Your patron is the Akashic Record—an eternal, sentient repository woven from the collective knowledge, lost histories, and magical frameworks of the multiverse. While other warlocks bargain with volatile fiends, capricious archfey, or enigmatic aberrations, your connection is to the grand architecture of information itself. You treat reality as an indexed chronicle, pulling forgotten theorems, arcane blueprints, and lost spells directly from the fabric of cosmic memory.
Level 3: Index of the Mind
-
Your mind is indexed directly into the Akashic Record, reshaping how you process magic and recall information:
-
Scholarly Disposition. When you choose this subclass at 3rd level, your spellcasting ability for your Warlock spells and features becomes Intelligence. You may swap your Charisma and Intelligence ability scores. Whenever a Warlock feature refers to your spellcasting ability modifier or would normally use Charisma (including your Spell Save DC, Spell Attack modifier, and invocations), it instead uses Intelligence.
-
Universal Index. Whenever you prepare or replace a Warlock spell, you can choose the spell from either the Warlock or Wizard spell list. The chosen spell counts as a Warlock spell for you.
-
Fluid Indexing. Whenever you finish a Long Rest, you can replace one of your prepared Warlock spells with another spell from the Warlock or Wizard spell list. The new spell must be of a level for which you have spell slots.
-
Archival Studies. You learn one cantrip of your choice from the Wizard spell list. It counts as a Warlock cantrip for you and does not count against your number of cantrips known. In addition, you gain proficiency in one skill of your choice from the Wizard class list: Arcana, History, Insight, Investigation, Medicine, Nature, or Religion.
-
Archival Treatise. You commit a foundational ritual formula to memory. Choose one 1st-level spell with the Ritual tag from the Wizard spell list. You always have this spell prepared, and it does not count against your number of prepared spells. Whenever you gain a Warlock level, you can replace this spell with another 1st-level ritual spell from the Wizard spell list.
-
Level 6: Arcane Barrage
You master a precise offensive algorithm from the Archive, weaponizing fundamental force magic with surgical efficiency:
-
Inscribed Missile. You always have the Magic Missile spell prepared, and it does not count against your number of prepared spells. You can cast it at 1st level without expending a spell slot a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.
-
Overclocked Volley. Whenever you cast Magic Missile (either for free or using a spell slot), you create one additional dart beyond the normal amount for the spell’s level.
Level 10: Astral Wings
You learn to manifest wings of pure conceptual light and astral script, stepping off the ground without needing to divert your mental focus:
-
As a Bonus Action, you gain a Fly speed equal to your Speed and the ability to hover. This benefit lasts for 1 minute, until you have the Incapacitated condition, or until you dismiss it as a Bonus Action. It does not require concentration.
-
Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a Short or Long Rest.
Level 14: Prismatic Ward
You can refract hostile incoming energy through the spectral prism of the Archive:
-
When you take acid, cold, fire, lightning, necrotic, poison, psychic, radiant, or thunder damage, you can take a Reaction to gain Resistance to that damage type until the start of your next turn.
-
This Resistance applies to the triggering damage.
