Base Class: Barbarian
Certain barbarians use dirty tactics to achieve their ultimate goal of besting their opponents. Those who follow the Path of Sickness take it one step further, by infusing their very bodies with deadly diseases. Their ability to weather the effects of illness make them formidable in battle, and they thrive on finding new avenues of infection. You embody the ideal of utilizing any means to reach your end.
Down With The Sickness
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you become immune to the effects of disease. Your virulent flesh holds fast to microbial inhabitants however, which allows you to still be infected by diseases. When an effect cures you of a disease, you can choose for it not to take effect.
While you're raging, roll 1d20 + CON modifier every time an enemy hits you with a weapon attack. If you beat your CON save DC, the weapon transfers its filth to you, allowing you to start incubating a disease of your choice, as if affected by the Contagion spell.
You may choose if it has a cosmetic effect or not. It takes 24 hours for the disease to take effect. You cannot incubate more than 1 disease at a time.
While you're afflicted by at least 1 disease, every disease you carry coats your weapon, causing it to deal extra Necrotic damage.
Level 3: 1d4 per disease, maximum 2 diseases
Level 6: 2d4 per disease, maximum 3 diseases
Level 10: 3d4 per disease, maximum 4 diseases
Level 14: 4d4 per disease, maximum 5 diseases
Abberant Form
Beginning at 6th level, while you're raging, you can transform into a walking disease vector as an action. The form you turn into is a Diseased Aberration, a brittle creature that spreads its diseases by attacking.
Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.
Selfless Affliction
Beginning at 10th level, you become immune to the Poisoned condition.
While you're raging, as a bonus action, you may benefit allies equal to twice your CON modifier with your afflictions. You take 4d8 Slashing damage as you carve open your tainted flesh, spreading your diseases to your allies' weapons. Their attacks deal 2d4 extra Necrotic damage for 1 minute.
Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Avatar of Pestilence
Starting at 14th level, as an action, you may utilize your diseased body to unleash a deadly miasma all around you. The damage of this miasma is based on the amount of diseases currently inflicted on you.
You unleash a cloud of killer miasma in a 60 foot sphere centered on you. All creatures within range (including allies) must succeed on a CON save, or suffer the following effects:
1 disease: 4d6 necrotic and 4d6 poison damage
2 diseases: 8d6 necrotic and 8d6 poison damage
3 diseases: 12d6 necrotic and 12d6 poison damage, as well as the poisoned condition
4 diseases: 16d6 necrotic and 16d6 poison damage, as well as the poisoned condition
5 diseases: 20d6 necrotic and 20d6 poison damage, as well as the poisoned and stunned conditions.
Any conditions applied last for 1 minute.
Creatures that succeed on their save suffer half damage, and avoid any conditions that might be applied.
Once you use this feature, you are considered afflicted by 0 diseases. You cannot use this feature again until you finish a long rest.
