I have read in past threads that it is possible to unassign a character from one person in a campaign so that someone else can claim it. Supposedly there's an "unassign" button? I cannot find it. I'm the DM, and it is necessary to transfer a character to another person in the campaign and I can't seem to figure out how to do that.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

On the campaign page when you look at the list of characters in that campaign. When you look at the players’ characters, underneath each you will see:
“VIEW EDIT DEACTIVATEREMOVE”
but when you look at the one you control as an NPC underneath it says:
I cant seem to fins an answer to my query but it is similar.
I have a homebrew I am soon to run. I have 4 pregenerated charcters for the players to claim. But before we have started, after claiming one, a player rage quit another campaign I run and is not welcome back. How do I unassign that character so a new player can claim it?
The player who claimed the character would need to go to the campaign page and select to Unassign it. This may not be feasible with a ragequit situation.
Otherwise, you'd need to make a new copy of that pregenerated character for someone else to claim.
Meanwhile you can Deactivate the claimed one, then once you've got a copy ready, Remove it from the campaign.
(We had to do this recently with a player who couldn't access his existing DDB account and had to make a new one. It's complicated. And yeah, a "copy" feature would be nice to have, but for now you just need to make from scratch.)

You can kick the character, and the player goes with it, but a DM can not forcibly unassign a PC. (You know some folks would abuse it.) in future it’s a good idea to create those PC’s and them make a copy of it and leave the copy unassigned. That way you have the original as a backup.
