So, my wizard recently got a Crystalline Chronicle, and when he's attuned, he gets Mage Hand, Mind Sliver, and Message added to his Cantrips. However, I can't add them to my spell list, nor does attuning to the item add them to my spell list. This seems like something that should happen automatically when it's attuned to.
We do prefer people disable them all and turn them back on one by one if they want to.
We who?
You're not D&D staff, and you don't speak for me.
Sposta's method is easier than disabling everything. You'll find out which one is the culprit and don't have to re-enable all the others.
However, it's unlikely an extension is actually an issue. It's more likely the OP was looking in the wrong place. With mentioning about them "adding" the spells and them not appearing in the spell list it seems like they were expecting to click Manage Spells and have to click to add them. Others have made this mistake before.
BrisingrChetowa please go to your character, attune to the item, and then where it has tabs for "actions", click "spells" and the 0. You should see the spells already added to your character sheet (they won't show in the builder or manage spells, they'll just appear on the sheet itself).

I am one of the mods, I just don't mod on the forums. That's the we.
No offense, but where the hell have you been?!? Folks like ArwensDaughter, Cyb3rM1nd, myself and others have been doing y’all’s light work, heavy work, and every other kinda work we can around here for years. If you search just about any problem in these forums you’ll find our names all over helping people with every darned thing we can for a loonnngggg time. (Heck, if I hadn’t ruffled as many feathers as I have I was going to apply as a mod here just for the access to make the work I’m already doing easier on myself.)

I've always had the sense that the mods keep an eye on the threads I'm responding in, but that as long as I'm asking the questions they would ask, they leave it to me (or one or more of the other "regulars") to handle helping the OP so they can concentrate on things I/we can't do (like respond to reports, check for duplicate accounts, look into problems with character sheets and homebrew). Part of that sense is because often when I've gotten to the end of what I can do to help, if there is still an issue, a moderator will post in the thread in question and "take over." That's happened less so recently, so I'm guessing that the mod:user ratio isn't as high as it used to be. I have no problem with that division of labor, as I enjoy being helpful, and I like believing that I'm making the mods' life easier. There have been a few times in the last few months, however, when it would have been helpful to have been able to draw the mods attention to an issue that I and/or other regulars haven't been able to resolve, and the thread sat "dormant" for several days or more. Haven't known the best way to do that, and I don't want to pester the mods, so I've just kind of let it be.
Thanks for spending some more time here in the forums, Arenlor; I recognize you from the twitch channel chat. I was confused about why you don't show up as a mod here, given that I was pretty sure you were a mod there. Now I know!
The spells contains within the Crystalline Chronicle function differently depending on if they're cantrips or levelled spells
For the cantrips, you can cast them as long as you are holding it, the spells aren't added to your spell list
While you are holding the crystal, you can use it as a spellcasting focus for your wizard spells, and you know the mage hand, mind sliver (appears in this book), and message cantrips if you don’t already know them
That's why they appear as long as you're attuned to the item
As for the levelled spells, they're not made available once you attune. Instead your character must spend time learning them like when you find spellbooks.
While you are touching the crystal, you can retrieve and store information and spells within the crystal at the same rate as reading and writing. When found, the crystal contains the following spells:....
It doesn't grant the ability to cast the spells, it has the ability to store information and comes 'pre-loaded' with spells which your wizard will have to transcribe to their own spellbook. Alternatively they can have the chronicle function as their own spellbook (but will have to transcribe their spells over from the old spellbook)
It functions as a spellbook for you, with its spells and other writing psychically encoded within it.
To transcribe these spells, go to the spells tab on your character sheet, then go to manage spells and select add spells. From there, search up the listed spells on the item and click learn.
This process isn't automatic because you don't automatically learn spells once you acquire a spellbook; the process requires time and money and the outcome depends on if you decide to add the new spells to your old spellbook, or your old spells to your new spellbook. Or if you decide to use both (RAW a wizard can use multiple spellbooks)
Hope this clarifies everything working as intended.

As Arenlor stated, they're not a forum moderator and their responsibilities lay elsewhere most of the time. Not everyone within the wider mod team has the time to commit to every platform, and not every mod is exclusively on the D&D Beyond side of things.
We very much value and appreciate the work the community does helping each other, it's what makes this such a great space and that's the purpose of these forums; to allow y'all to help each other out rather than relying on the moderation team or customer services. The moderators have a lot of 'behind the scenes' work that can often not leave much time for engaging in the forums proper. As a rule, we trust the community to support each other, but will try to step in and help out where we can. Please understand that the team can't be in every thread answering every question. For pressing matters that go beyond community support, we have the customer service portal which guarantees your query reaches a staff member.
Perhaps it would be worth giving some sort of indication for those who are on the mod team but not necessarily a forum moderator. I too saw Arenlor's comments and assumed a rando -- like myself -- trying to help. Some indication that they are staff would be nice and give validity to them a little bit more. If that sort of confusion happened once, you can bet it will happen hundreds more times. Also without any indication, any rando can claim to be staff and unless some other staff members says anything about it people will probably believe them if there is a precedent for staff to have unmarked accounts.

Fair enough. Then thank you for finding time to squeezing in some volunteering here. From one volunteer to another, we could use the help.
I cannot speak to everyone’s motivations but among other reasons,* part of why I started chipping in was to help preclude people getting bounced to CS. So same goal, but focusing on the other end of that chain.
*(And also to help the Mods out by getting the troubleshooting out of the way so they can focus on actual bugs, and to help the users feel less frustrated at the slow response times, and because I needed to feel useful and it turned out I had a knack for it. )

Sounds like yous are all spread a little thin and need more Mods.
Since everyone here is gonna keep on doing what we’re doing, I’m curious to learn why DDB prefers to have everything disabled and turned on individually instead of the the other way ‘round. I mean, I couldn’t even hazard a guess as to how many folks I have given the blocker/extension/VPN spiel to. So many that my phone can quite literally finish my sentence for me since I have typed the exact same sentence often enough. So if I gotta go through the investment of teaching the darned thing new verbiage by manually typing a slight variation of the whole gorram thing out all over again another however many times, I’d at least like to know why it makes a difference.
Because the entire point is to see if it's an extension that's causing the issue in the first place. Disabling them all will tell you if it's the issue, turning them back on one at a time will tell you which one caused the issue. VPNs are the second thing to try, but there's also security software, Kaspersky has been causing issues as well as the occasional false positive from other things. Users have also turned off third party cookies and had that causing problems. Further just the other day ran into someone where the problem wasn't an extension, it was actually two of them, and having them turn only one off would not have exposed the issue as the other one interfered too. So the easiest and least frustrating way for a user is to just turn them all off in one go and then turning them back on until the problem comes back and knowing which one(s) cause the issue.

They might not need to disable all of them. It is better practice to flip them off one by one to see which of them (if any) is causing the issue.
