I'm making a homebrew subclass with Soulknife Rogue as the basis and I'm trying to make it have the ability to have spellcasting as the DM for my campaign wanted to homebrew spells for all of us as per the lore in the campaign. Whenever I try and add the subclass to my character, the spell list/spell tab doesn't show up even though in the subclass I have "Can Cast Spells" checked and I have the homebrew spells within a class feature. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong ?
Wait just kidding, sorry lmao, it's working fine now I just had to change the subclass to Soulknife and then back to my homebrew and the spells showed up. I do have a follow up question though if that's ok, is there any way that I can make a homebrew spellcasting table then? My DM has given me one and I'm wondering how I can incorporate it.
As in a particular limited set of homebrew spells? That's... not so easy. The general implementation for third-casters in DDB is to give them access to a base spellcasting class's spell list.
You would have to copy/past the table from either Arcane Trickster or Eldritch Knight. Unfortunately hat spell progression cannot be altered in any way.

Hey everyone,

Thanks!
For starters, make sure that your subclass has a feature called "Spellcasting". That's how you get third-caster spell slots.

Yep, under class features right? I had it as a different name so I changed it but still no spell tab unfortunately

It might be possible to create homebrew spells and add them to the spell list for your homebrew subclass (in the spell's Basic Information), but I couldn't tell you off-hand if that makes the spells available to select from or if it's "always known". Couldn't hurt to try I suppose, this is a good reference: https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/60437-modifying-official-spells-for-your-private
