In the “Tools” sections of The PHB, and The Basic Rules, as well as the details page for the Herbalism Kit, the tooltip for the Potion of Healing was entered as the [_item] version of the basic Potion of Healing. However, Xanathar’s Guide clarified both RAI, and (more importantly) RAW that an Herbalism Kit is required to make any variety of Potion of Healing. That clarification can be found in the “Brewing Potions of Healing” subsection of the “Crafting an Item” portion of Downtime Activities section of Xanathar’s Chapter 2, Downtime Revisited.
As has been repeatedly mentioned by members of both Staff, and the Moderation team, DDB’s stated mission is “to present the rules as WotC designs them,” / “support the core rules of fifth edition Dungeon & Dragons 5e.” With that in mind, it seems the [_magicitem] tooltip (as was used in the aforementioned section of Xanathar’s Guide) would likely be more appropriate in those locations.
