I have a question regarding running play-by-post campaigns. I’d like to post images but I have a lot of difficulty doing so. The forum button works well enough for me if I can find a pre-existing image on the internet, but when I want to share my own picture I am clueless on how to make it work. If I upload a picture to Imgur, for example, I cannot get that image to share in the forum. The best I can do is post a link. Is there a way to get the pictures to show up in the forum post itself? Please forgive my hopefully simple question. I’m not too good at technology. Explaining like I’m 5 will probably be necessary!
Once you've hosted your image on a website such as Imgur, click the Insert/edit image button in the toolbar:
Then, right-click on the hosted image and choose Copy Image Address (this may be slightly different depending on your system):
Finally, paste that URL in the Source field of the Insert/edit image pop-up box here, as well as (optionally) some text describing the image (for accessibility), and (also optionally) some custom image dimensions.
Yes! Again, this may differe depending on your device or browser, but on Chrome for iOS I am able to press+hold on the hosted image on Imgur and choose either Open Image or Open Image in New Tab, both of which open the image in the a new browser tab with a URL starting with i.imgur.com. You can then copy this address to get the image address directly.
I use Safari exclusively and around 95-98% of everything I do on DDB is on my iPhone. I have no trouble posting images:
You have to request the desktop version of the site from Imgur and hold your phone in landscape orientation (sideways). After you have uploaded the image, then set that dropdown I circled to “Generate Image Links,” select your image, and then select “Direct Link (email and I’m)” as the link type to Copy.
Then, on DDB, you also still need the phone held in landscape and you will be able to do waaayy more stuff than when you hold it in portrait orientation. Up at the top of these fields you will see a number of grey buttons that were unavailable before due to the display width. Tap the one that looks like a representation of a photograph and Paste that link you Copied from imgur there.

Ah, stinkin’ safari. I’ll get chrome and try it!
