I bought a book and have had content shared with me but none of it has ever been usable and. I'm still confused as to why cause it says downloaded and I can read it but it doesn't give me the contents

By downloaded, do you mean in the app?
Did you inadvertently buy the compendium only option? That would let you read it, but not use the content in the character builder and other tools. You can go to this page: https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/marketplace, scroll down to "Current Product Licenses" to check. Of you find the purchase in the Order Transactions section and click on View Order.
i bought Mythic Odysseys of Theros source book and I only have triton from the source book which isn't even part of the book.
triton is in the MOoT, although it was first published in Volos. Did you try the suggestion I made in the post just above yours? While on the same page as I linked to there, also check if you need to,sync entitlements.
And do you have the Magic: the Gathering content button turned on (red/right) in the character setup preferences?
If👆this doesn’t solve your issue for you, then I he next question is the same one ArwensDaughter asked, but I’ll rephrase it for you:
That book you bought, did it cost $20, or $30?
The $20 version is just a “read only” compendium. The $30 version is the one that unlocks all the bells and whistles for the fully generally interactive digital tools on the character sheet. If you did inadvertently get the Compendium Only version, ou would just need to pay the $10 difference then.

Thanks, pocketmouse! Somehow that possibility slipped my mind.
