I'm trying to create a magic item which will replicate Guidance when equipped, but I can't get the bonuses to apply. It's a common Wonderous Item with no attunement required, created from scratch. I've added a Bonus Modifier for each skill with 1d4 for the dice roll.
I created it all in one go. It's been saved appropriately. I've closed and refreshed the browser. I'm not sure what else I need to do in order for this to apply appropriately.
Shouldn't I still be able to see the additional value? When I'm rolling on the test character, I see the d20 roll value plus modifier. I'm not seeing any new minimum floor. I can still roll a one on the D20 (just confirmed), so it's not adding it to that roll.
It is not currently possible for the system to add that variable amount to those rolls at all. If you had used a fixed bonus like “+1,” then it would be adding that to your roll. Because you used a variable bonus of +1d4,” it adds nothing at all.

Unfortunately, there currently isn't a way to display a bonus die roll for a skill.
