I have access to the feats, but I thought that if I added the correctly allotted number, the program wouldn't allow me to add more. However, I seem to be able to just add any and all feats to my established character. Why is that?
I'm not 100% sure, but I think it is that if a DM decides that "Your character did absolutely awesome in that situation, you gain a feat!" you still can add a feat to your character without the site going "Nope, can't do that."

You normally only add feats as part of character progression instead of an ASI. That’s done in the character builder, not on the sheet itself.
