Since before Christmas I've been having issues with loading up D&D Beyond. Each time I open the site I either get hit with the following screen, or try and log in then get hit with the same screen. Apparently I'm using automation tools to browse the website... I did use the Beyond20 plugin on Chrome (my whole group uses it in our Campaign without any problems), and tried removing it and reinstalling Chrome but that didn't work. Tried clearing cache/cookies, and checking to see if Javascript was somehow disabled or blocked (it wasn't).
I did a Windows reinstall the other day (for an unrelated issue), and this seemed to fix the problem for a while. However today, when I tried to click on a link given to me by a player in my group, I got the dreaded Splash Screen of Entry Denial.
Can anyone help me with how to solve this problem? I'm getting sick of seeing it each time I try to use DDB.
Using the site on Edge works fine. That's what I'm using to type this, but since I want to use Beyond20 I can't use Edge and don't ideally want to change to Firefox if I can help it.
In case anyone can't open the image, this is the reference that's at the bottom of the page I keep landing on. Reference ID: #a8190310-8459-11ec-b592-4d334b29d04c
That screen indicates that something in your browsers behaviour is being flagged as suspicious by the site. This can be caused by the following:
Having too many D&D Beyond tabs open and refreshing/interacting with them
Ad blockers or antivirus that may be manipulating your traffic
A VPN that might be assigning you an IP range close to other users of the VPN who are also using the site (making you all appear as similar/the same user)
Extensions that manipulate or interact with the site such as Beyond20 and AboveVTT.
Corrupted cached data that may be causing the site to load incorrectly
I would suggest the following:
Clear your cache
Disable any extensions
Disable any VPNs, ad blockers and/or anti-virus (albeit temporarily)
If that doesn't work, try an incognito window/different browser
That link shouldn't have caused any problems. As Davyd mentioned before, it is usually cookies/cache within the browser or similar that is hitting the service that detects for suspicious behavior. It might be a browser extension, or an experimental chrome feature that has been enabled?
Have you tried clearing the cookies (as well as cache) from the chrome browser?
cleared cache, cleared cookies, disabled/removed all extensions, reinstalled chrome, reset all experimental chrome features to default (although the only one i'd changed was smooth scrolling)
Genuinely have no idea what's preventing me from getting on. there are 0 cookies, nothing in cache, all site data has been wiped. but i'm still getting the verify you are human page
the only thing that remains saved to chrome are my passwords
There aren't any security programs, anti-virus, VPNs, or similar that might be parsing data that is hitting the browser? Unfortunately there isn't any magic fix from our side, it is something local to the browser or device.
None that I can see. I'll have another dig around later on my pc to see what the problem could be. I did deactivate my anti virus and firewall to test and see if it would work, but nothing.
Thanks for your suggestions, if all else fails I guess Firefox is still an option

Okay so,
I'm just stumped at what can be causing the problem
You said the reoccurred when you clicked a link provided by another member in your campaign? What URL/page was this link to?

It was a link to homebrew magic items. Didn't open on chrome for me, but when i copied and pasted the link into edge, it worked fine
