Recently, I was messing around with spell scaling on homebrew spells and ran into a problem where the spell scaling was not working. I have the "At Higher Levels Scaling" box checked and have added a damage modifier and finally the At Higher Levels modifier where the spell increases by 1d6 for every level after the second. Here is the link to the spell. Thank you!

Did you set the "HIGHER LEVEL SCALING TYPE” to “Spell Scale” or something else?

I did set the "Higher Level Scaling Type" to Spell Scale.

You sure you set it to “spell scale” not “spell level,” right? Just double checking.

And the “At Higher Level” settings should be:

• Scaling Level Value: 2
• Modifier to Scale: [damage]
• Scale Effect: Additional Points
• Die Count: 1
• Die Type: d6

You only need the one level scale.

After meticulously observing my settings for the Higher Level Scaling setting, I have come to the conclusion that I had set the Scale Effect to Additional Count instead of Additional Points. This greatly helps me and my problem has been fixed. Thank you again!

Bringing this up again as I have the same problem. I have a 6th level spell that is supposed to increase by 1d6 for each spell slot above 6th. I have all the settings correct but the character sheet still will not display the increase in damage.
