I was confused as to why my passive insight on this detective character was so much lower than my other passive scores, considering being impossible to lie to was the main concept when I started out. My passive perception was 25, investigation was 31, and insight was 20, and sure 20 is a lot but how do i have THIRTY ONE investigation.
It has been a long time since ive looked at this character, so I went through the character sheet in great detail, and reacquainted myself with what a pallid elf was and the math behind passive scores to make sure I wasn't missing anything.I have proficiency and expertise in all 3 skills (+6), and the observant feat making the 2 other than insight go up by 5, and my INT modifier is 1 more than my Wisdom of +4. Seemingly, the only thing that could be bumping my passive investigation from 26 to 31 is the +5 from having inherent advantage, but Pallid elves also have advantage on insight, so that +5 should also apply to my passive insight, but it isn't added. It remains at an even 20.
TLDR, I'm relatively certain that +5 to passive investigation for having advantage is calculated on the character sheet, but the same +5 for having advantage on insight isn't. I have no idea whether or not it is calculated for passive perception.
So it's specifically a Pallid Elf thing? Does that mean this has been an issue for a year now? If one of them already works I can't imagine how hard it would be to fix the insight.
They have to simply create the modifier for it just like the ones that exist for Passive Perception & Passive Investigation. I can’t imagine it should be all that complicated. And it isn’t just for the Palid Elf either and has been an issue for longer than a year. I dunno why they haven’t created the modifier for it yet. It’s gotta either be unusually complicated for reasons unknown, or else it’s such a low priority that it isn’t even worth reaching for as low-hanging fruit. 🤷♂️
Probably something that wasn't accounted for in the original database structure, while Passive Perception & Investigation were (because of Observant Feat.) It's a large pain to change a database that's already built and running.

DDB not adding +5 to Passive Insight for advantage (like with Pallid Elves) is a known issue.

That’s one Modifier I really, REALLY wish they would add already.

There are many things that have been an issue. They are in the process of a major overhaul to the system to be able to support features better.
