I have a homebrew subclass I've made and I'm getting the error that I can't publish because I have either private homebrew or licensed content linked but I removed the only thing that I could tell was licensed content, is there any way for me to tell which thing is causing the problem?
Sadly no so you have to figure out whether its a spell or did you use a base subclass as your starter in creating the subclass instead of making it from scratch. Also URL or links outside of beyond make it like that as well.
I'll direct you to the Homebrew FAQ I have linked in my bio and I will link it here as well. Specifically the section on General FAQ and Trouble Shooting.
Also check to make sure you don't have any links in descriptions. Tooltips are fine [ spell ][ /spell] for example. That can be a problem when starting from template.
Yeah you have to create from scratch and copy everything again.
This should not be necessary.
One question noone in this thread has asked, although I'm sure it' covered in the FAQ that was recommended, is making sure to save from topmost save button (in the section usually called Basic Information). Only when saving from that button does the system re-run the check for publishability.
I looked through the FAQ and from what I can tell is that I was using things not in the basic rules because I didn’t realize PHB wasn’t basic rules. My subclass was based off archfey which is PHB not basic rules so I can just do it again using fiend and swap the spell list for basic rules spells instead.
You also don't need to publish your homebrew to use it. As long as you have it in your collection you are able to use it as well as anyone that you are in a campaign with. Most of the time it is better to not publish it because once it has been published you can't edit, update, or delete it so if you wanted to make changes to it you'd have to create and entirely new version.
I am aware of that but I’m lookin to publish my stuff so I can get feedback. My favorite thing about homebrewing is getting feedback so I can tweak it and have other people play with it.
if that's what you want your be better off posting it on the forums without publishing it so people can take a look. More people will look at it that way and if you ask for feedback, actually give it to you. If you publish something its likely to get lost in the sea of homebrew content and may never get seen.
You'd have to post your homebrew formatted like it would show up in a book and not just link to it because no one else would really be able to see it but that is still probably the better option for getting feedback.
You can do it here or potentially other places like the subreddit (though I wouldn't recommend that). There is a whole homebrew section of the forums on dndbeyond that I will link to you here. You can also find it from the Dnd Beyond forums page if you scroll down about half way.

Basing it off of the Archfey is fine, as long as it’s different enough. It was the spell list that was getting you hung up. If you keep your original and just swap the mapped spells to all “feee content” spells you should be fine for whenever you do eventually publish. But as was recommended, hold off on publishing until you’ve fully playtested and edited you homebrew. You can just copy/paste it into a forum post and ask for reviews that way, and you’re more likely to get feedback that way too.

I used a base subclass and then edited all of it to my abilities and text since this was my first time in the editor.

Yeah you have to create from scratch and copy everything again.
Your best bet actually is making the subclass in google docs or any different document so you can easily edit between versions.
Then convert to beyond if you want to.

Also: are any spells involved? If so, which ones?

Would those forums be on dnd beyond or is there a specific forum elsewhere I should post to?
